Very poor workmanship and terrible customer relations. They messed up almost everything they did and we had to argue with them several times to get them to do what they had agreed to in the contract. They told us the work would be done "in a few weeks" in the middle of October and we are still trying to get them to finish it on the last day of December. Avoid them.

We signed a contract with Abby Windows in July 2021 to have 16 windows replaced and a window converted to a door. The sales process went well and we felt confident in our decision to hire Abby for our job. Unfortunately, the difficulties started as soon as we signed our contract. It has been an extremely frustrating experience. Communication has been poor and things have not occurred within the timelines that have been communicated to us. We were told measurements would be taken in 5-14 days. They were not taken until 4 weeks later after we left multiple messages. After some supply chain delays (beyond Abby's control), windows were installed in March 2022 with many errors made that have not yet been fixed. The door was not installed until June and took a month to be completed. We paid for a lead-safe installation due to the age and condition of our original windows. We hired Abby because they are a lead-safe certified company. Almost no lead-safe precautions were taken. The bare minimum was done for some windows after demolition began and I asked the installer about it. He said a lead-safe install was listed on our paperwork, but he didn't read it. 6 windows required carpentry and the installer told me there was nothing he could do to prevent the lead dust. Whereas the sales person explained to us how things would be sealed off, wet-sawed, and vacuumed within the EPA's lead-safe renovation guidelines. There was chipped lead paint all over both interior and exterior surfaces. Our kitchen sink was damaged by an installer that stood in it. Numerous errors were made with the window installations - large gaps, missing caulk, missing insulation, unfinished jambs, etc. We had a meeting with the project manager and the installer. The installer lied to the PM and said he did a lead-safe install when we have photos to prove otherwise. The project manager and director of production, Adam LaDell, came out and documented the many errors that occurred. Adam and the project manager at the time noted more issues than we initially noticed. They took pictures and documented everything. They assured us Abby would fix all of the issues and inspect the work to ensure all work was completed to Abby's standards. Adam assured us that he personally would be on site for much of the remaining work. This was not at all the case. He has been to our house one time, for maybe an hour during the door install. Adam offered some money to refund the lead-safe install, complete lead, blood tests for our children and cleaning services to rectify the lead-safe installation issues. Even though peace of mind was lost, we agreed because they seemed genuine enough that our situation was not common. At this point, it seems like it was a lot of talk and nothing more. Four months later and we're still waiting for this job to be complete. We're on our third project manager and communication has been poor throughout. Our sales person also quit. Multiple messages to Abby employees are often unreturned. We rarely know what to expect and get different communication from different employees. In May we were told the mistakes would be fixed ASAP. We're still waiting 6 weeks later. Workers come 1 or occasionally 2 days per week, work for a few hours, tell us the repairs will take longer than they expected, and that they'll have to come back. A few delays were weather related, which would be more understandable if we had communication about when to expect them back. Usually it's at least another week. The disregard for our property has been frustrating. Lead paint chips have been all over the interior and exterior of our home. Our sink was broken, landscaping ruined, and we're constantly picking up broken glass, metal chards, screws, and nails. These things are documented and have been shared. We're tired of fighting to get the products and services we were sold. We have small kids, one with developmental delays. Our original 1940 windows were in poor condition and full of chipping, lead paint. Hiring a company that was lead-safe certified was important and we thought we made the right decision in hiring Abby for our job. We were wrong. They should not be lead-safe certified, as their installers do not follow the guidelines communicated by Abby sales representatives or the EPA. Avoid our mistakes and hire another company. All of these issues would be easier to manage with good communication and if we trusted the windows were properly installed. Our living room is more noisy and drafty than it was with the original, 80 year old windows, but we've been dismissed by Abby employees. Their warranty means nothing if they don't follow through on correcting mistakes.

The good: Our salesperson was pleasant to work with, able to answer our questions, and wasn’t pushy. The not so good: The Mezzo series is a lower quality product. You will see white vinyl exposed on your finished product. We had 17 windows installed and you can see white vinyl exposed on all of them. It’s not awful. But it’s noticeable. The frustrating things that make you wish you would have gone with a different company. Installation is farmed out. We knew this ahead of time, and I know this is a fairly common practice in the industry. But there are companies that employ their own installers and I do believe the quality and service would be better from installers employed by the company. We had a group of 6 installers come to our house. I asked one of the guys how long he’d been installing windows, and he said he was a dry-waller by trade and just came along because he knew someone else on the crew and didn’t have any other work at the time. We had 3 double hung windows replace with 2 double hung windows and a bay window in between. These 3 pieces needed to be connected on our living room floor prior to installation. It took the crew almost 2 hours and several attempts to figure out how to connect the 3 sections. I asked the lead installer about it and he said he had never had to connect sections onsite before. The real frustrating part came at the end. I was ready to pay our full bill when installation was complete. When the installer presented the final bill to me, it was $500 less than what I was expecting. I asked him about it, and he said Abby gave us a discount. So, I paid the amount requested. About 2 months later, we received a bill from Abby for $500. I sent an email asking about the charge and explained that their installers said we had received a $500 discount. Abby replied “We allowed you to withhold 5% of the balance until the job was serviced.” The salesperson never mentioned this, and actually said we would pay the remainder of the contract at the time of installation. The installers had no idea about this. And it’s not in the contract. In fact, the contract states that the full bill is due within 5 days of installation. We also know others who have worked with Abby and there was no withholding of 5% at installation to be collected at a later date. In the end, we paid the $500, was mostly likely an account error on their part that they figured out 2 months later. Service. We’ve had an ongoing issue with neither every window that Abby installed where white vinyl is showing due to a piece that is not attached correctly, and probably got that why during installation. We shared it with Abby and a tech came out to our house, looked at it, and told my wife if we’re bothered by, we can just “pop” the piece back into place. He didn’t show her how or offer to do it on any of the windows. I tried but was not able to do it. I’ve asked Abby about it several times, asking for a tech to come back out or for instructions on how to reattach the piece correctly, and several times she replied along the lines of “You should just be able to click it back in or slide it up.” Unhelpful. Unfortunately, it feels like ‘we got your money, we’re done with you.’ We wouldn’t give someone else a recommendation to go with Abby.

For $5000, I had 4 double hung windows, ordered in August, installed in January. Of the 4, two had screens improperly installed, one had a hole in the screen, and a window was cracked. The Installers did not review the windows before installing them, but the cracked window was obvious. In addition, they had to wait for caulk as it was lacking on the truck, and the installers did not replace the porch furniture when they were done. The cracked window will have to be replaced, no idea when. The screens were taken for replacement, not told when they will be returned. Have had no problems before with the company, but will not use them again.

They did a fabulous job! The job took some time but the gentleman and his son who did the work paid close attention to every detail and demanded perfection every step of the way. I get many many compliments from neighbors and friends who pass by the house. I would HIGHLY recommend Abby Windows LLC to anyone. You will NOT be disappointed!

Excellent work. Both install teams highly knowledgeable. Was not sure which window style I should use for sunporch. Abby's insight /knowledge /suggestions lead me to a satisfactory decision. This is the only window company I will use in the future for future homes. I had 3 estimates and very happy I chose Abby Windows and Doors.

Great experience! Our house is large, we needed to replace all windows. I got quotes from three "big name" window installers, they tried to talk me out of the windows I wanted & discouraged me from doing it in phases, not to mention I could have bought a brand new Mercedes-Benz for what they charge. Right after my third estimate I saw Abby's commercial on TV, so I called. I was shocked she would come to Kenosha from Milwaukee to give an estimate and within a day of my call!!! My husband and I work/ed for a Fortune 50 company, we're business savvy and have high standards. I have not had this great of an experience hiring someone to do work at my house in years. I am writing this review because it is hard to find professionals that not only do great work, but honor their warranty and stand by their product. Abby never tried to talk me out of what I wanted, extremely fair price, our windows are good quality. It's been close to three years since we started doing business with Abby Windows LLC. I had to call because our painter noticed some caulk was pulling away from a couple windows, she sent someone to fix it. Year after install, manufacture defect with one window, she sent us a new one. Last, when we did the second phase 1.5 to 2 years later, windows match, caulk matches and the installer told us the lock on one of our windows needed to be changed because he wasn't happy with the way it turned! They don't just want your money, they want you happy and not once did they charge us to come back and fix or replace anything. Don't hesitate to hire Abby Windows LLC. I'm a customer for life.

It went very well. Abby's installer did an excellent job and has great attention to detail. I am very pleased with the work. Her price is a little higher than other quotes I got but judging by the quality of the siding and the quality of the work, I believe my money was well spent. Abby is very friendly and professional and quickly responded to e-mails. Her installer is also very friendly and professional and made sure I was happy with the work. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Terrific! We love the new windows and patio doors. The installers were absolutely fantastic. They found that the old windows upstairs were leaking and caused a lot of damage in the walls. Since we had paid for a full tear out they had to do extra work but installed all the windows at no additional charge (we had to hire a contractor for some addition damage caused by the leakage). Would highly recommend.

Abby came to evaluate the job and make recommendations as to the type of windows and doors. We chose double-hung, triple-glazed Preservation windows and doors by Alside. Abby followed up by sending her lead measuring tech to get exact dimensions and make installation notes re: threshold modification, etc. Her estimate, though higher than we'd hoped, was clear, complete and professionally presented. We signed the contract. The installation team was thorough, hard-working and focused. Everything was installed on a very long day, which stretched to 8:30 p.m. We are very pleased with the work, and with the product.

They were timely, professional, cleaned up after themselves (to the point it was more clean than I left it), and then checked in a few days later to make sure I was happy. A few months later I had a question, and they got back to me within an hour (even though I wasn't a current customer). They constantly kept me updated and in the loop as to timeline, arrival of windows, date of work, etc. I had such an incredible experience with them that I doubt I would consider using anyone else.

The process went very well. I feel like I got a very quality window and great installation at a very good price. Her prices beat everyone by a lot and the windows she used as replacements were triple pane and better quality than the other windows I was considering. The only reason I was not able to rate on punctuality or professionalism is because both times the installation occurred and I was not at home. However, they did come on the day they said they would and did not leave any mess in my home after the install.

Multiple corrections and months of delays were very frustrating. No protection was used to remove the old lead painted wood porch. Unprofessional attitude from Abby in the end ruined any chance to hire her or refer her for any work in the future. Final porch was acceptable with the exception that it is pitched slightly toward the house and Abby refused to patch the corners of the house with the left over siding materials to finish the job.

She came to the house on time and had good suggestions on products we should use. She gave us an estimate and we booked her on the spot. I will always go with a company that makes me feel they are honest and above board. She offered windows left over from another job and gave me deal on them. They were just what I wanted. Installers showed up on time and went right to work. They kept me informed throughout the install on what they were doing and how it was going. Final product looks great and was a huge improvement from what we had before.

If we ever needed work done in the future regarding our windows, Abby Windows would be the first and most likely only place we'd go with. Abby, herself, actually came out to our house to do the measuring and talk with us regarding the windows. She answered emails within hours, sometimes, within minutes. We waited until the winter to leave this review because we wanted to see how the windows held up to the Wisconsin winter. It's the end of December and we made it through sub zero temperatures and the windows performed excellent!

I had half of the windows in the house replaced last summer 2015. Had 3 estimates before making my choice of Abby windows. Decided to wait on review so I could get used to function of new windows's and determine how efficient they were during the winter. I bought all preservation triple pane windows, double hung. Installers were efficient, knowledgeable and worked neatly. Respectful of the property. Initially one window was hard to raise and squeaky. The installer knew right away what the problem was , a part was ordered and Andy (part of team with Jim and Jim's son ) efficiently took care of issue. All the windows have functioned very well. My heating bill decreased quite a bit. I am now in the process of ordering window's for the rest of the house and window for a sunporch. Abby came to house for 2016 order, patiently answered all my questions, had solid suggestions for me to consider for my sunporch. My search for window company's is over. Any future residence I may own , that needs new windows, will be thru Abby window's. They were a bit more expensive but the quality and warranty was worth it.

About 5years ago I had 11 windows replaced by Stanek.  I chose them because they manufactured the windows, used their own installers, not subs, and offered a 30 year (lifetime) warranty.  I was pleased with the windows and the work done at the time.

When one of my windows came off the track while I was washing it, I called Great Day Improvements, the current distributor for Stanek in the Milwaukee area.  I was told that Stanek was sold in 2013, and the successor company was NOT honoring Stanek's warranty!  They quoted me a $125 trip charge, and a 2 week wait for an appointment.

Abby Windows is in my neighborhood, so I tried calling Abby.  She came out the same day and took 5 minutes for fix the problem.  She was on time, courteous and friendly.  She showed me where the problem was, so I could fix it, if it happened again.

All she asked was a positive review on Angie's List!  I am thrilled and will call Abby again, and recommend her to anyone who asks me.

Back in 2002 we had 6 of our original windows replaced with Preservation windows by a company called  All About Windows & Siding, Inc owned by Rob Kuehl. We have been happy with our 6 Preservation windows so when we decided to do our remaining windows in 2015 it was obvious to use the same contractor and windows; however, I discovered Rob had retired and sold his business to Abby. Rob's company had been so awesome that I was hesitant to use someone new and voiced that concern to our sales guy, he passed my concern on to Abby who immediately contacted me and put all my concerns aside especially when I found out that Rob's employees had stayed on with Abby Windows.

Everything about the entire process was as it should be, they guys arrived on time, protected my furniture with sheets, installed the windows without incident, and showed me how to use them.

I had an issue come up with one of my Preservation windows from 2002 that was covered under warranty and Abby Windows took care of it for no charge even though I didn't buy it from her company.

I gave the pricing a "B"  because I didn't get pricing from anywhere else so I have no price comparison and believe the overall price to be "good".

And lastly, if you are lucky enough to have Andy sent out on your install please know he is a man of very few words but he REALLY knows his stuff!

Abby was very prompt in sending a sales rep to evaluate my situation, and provide a price for replacement of eleven windows and a front entrance door, in one of my investment houses.  Abby had the best overall price for the product and installation.  I had obtained two other quotes, and decided to go with Abby.  The installation was done in the time frame estimated at the time of the quote, and I was very pleased by the attitude, quality of the work, and the professionalism, exhibited by the installation team.  The windows and door are working out very well, and I look forward to dealing with Abby again in the future.
