UPDATE:
We have not recieved a call but a worker arrived 2 days after this posting. He stuck the hanging piece of siding back up and prepared to leave. I stopped him and told him it needed to be replaced because it doesnt fit properly. Also there was a small hole at the crease where the siding had bent and flapping in the wind for 2 months. I question the workers integrity by leaving something like that. I asked him to replace the piece and he agreed. He had to go to a supply store to get a piece of siding but he returned and cut the new piece to fit. So far it looks good and the siding is now fixed.
"Im sorry for the delay. Did not respond to his calls Because i never delt with him and did not know who he was, delt with another family member and had know file on him or a contract.. Once that was resolved and reliezed who name the contract was under i then explained that we needed to wait for tempetures and weather to be more condusive for the vinyl siding..when the crew went out they had new pieces with them and were looking to see what was improperly installed with piece that was their so they could report back to me.. I never have the same crew that worked on project go on repairs this way i get oppinions and not an excuses.. Crews that have made repairs get paid from crew that made incorect instalation. I feel this is the best way to stay proffesinal.. We did and will take care of any and all problems that could arise...Also he didnt explaine that they had a winter storm with 55 mile an hr winds. Job was completed in Bellvelle ILL , this gentelman lives in indiana.."
Paul did come by two times the first day to check on his crew and make sure they had all they required. He came by two times the second day, once to check on the crew and talk with them, the second time to check the clean up and accept final payment. He may have come by more but I am normally a day sleeper but I saw him on those occasions.
As mentioned above, I tried to get him to allow me to get the new synthetic shingle underlayment instead of felt (tar paper). When the materials arrived I saw tar paper and started a lot of calls to Paul. He did not return the call but did come to the my home to check on his crew. At that time I talked to him about the underlayment. He said that he could sell me the system and even quoted the price ($1.00 more than at Home Depot. I was about to drive and get it myself before he arrived.) but said the shingle manufacturers had not yet approved the product and it would void my warranty. I then asked for the heavy felt and he said that was only warranted for specific types of shingles. He said he would use the synthetic underlayment if I insisted but could not provide the warranties. He said he felt it was his job to help protect his customers and their warranty. I accepted his advice.
Their final cleanup was complete. I have had a lot of contractors that did a poor job cleaning up after themselves. This crew did not.
My only complaint at all was with problems contacting Paul Perkins. He is apparently very very busy and does not return phone calls until the end of the day. I think on every call, (requesting bid, telling he got bid, changes in contract, ...) he did contact me the same day but it was usually in the evening.
Paul did submit the insurance paperwork immediately, providing me with a copy of the fax messages on successful transmission.
I am not sure about do's and don'ts. I think for a do, do listen to him. He seems to be interested in giving an excellent service at a good price. For don'ts, don't expect to call his service and expect an immediate response.
"He is correct storm came way before anyone excpected. We worked in horrible conditions and made sure his roof was water tight and i feel all my guys did a great job protecting themselves and the home. The roof DID not leak during or after the storm and till this day still no leaks . We installed the antenna temporarley so the customer would have it reinstalled like he stated on chimney not through a brand new roof. I Paul Perkins would be more than happy to pay for antenna"
"I'm Not going to respond as i think most people will see what i am dealing with by looking at his comments. our company has been in the business for 26 years and hold an A rating with Illinois and WIsconsin BBB and have many satisfied customers willing to give us a recommendation."
