We negotiated a fair price that was acceptable to both of us.  He came during the appointed time frame and performed all of the agreed upon work which consisted of grinding out 4 stumps and chipping all of the brush from the four downed trees plus brush that had accumulated from prior years.  He not only ground out the stumps to a very deep level but also followed the main roots for quite a distance and ground them out too.  He was unable to clean up all of the debris on his first visit but came back to finish the job promptly.  At one point I told him that it was good enough, but he insisted on continuing until it was cleaned up to his satisfaction.
