In May 2013 we obtained a quote from Tim to replace our siding and gutters and to have Leaf Guard gutter toppers installed. We accepted his bid. He began the work about 3 weeks after the date he told us he would. If I didn't call or text him, I didn't hear from him. Tim completed some of the work satisfactorily, but some of the finishes were obviously wrong. When we asked him to come back to fix the problems, he did. But in my opinion, I cant believe he actually felt like they were right to begin with. He acted like he was doing us a big favor by coming back to do it right. Our biggest complaint was with the gutters. We believed we were getting Leaf Guard gutters. At first, when we were told the gutters were finished, they didn't have any type of leaf protection. The gutters were open.So we called to ask about it, and Tim told us they forgot to install them. So they came back a couple of days later and installed gutter screens.  Our quote specifically states "Leaf Guard" protection. We were deceptively mislead by the written quote specifically stating "Leaf Guard". What we actually got was a screen over the gutter, which we could have installed ourselves. When we asked Tim about the screens, he said he never told us "Leaf Guard" because he isn't an authorized dealer for them. We showed him the quote and he realized his mistake. We told him we didn't want the screens and he should remove them. He said he would take them off, but he would still have to charge us for them. With a major storm our gutters leak, pouring right over the top of them. I took video and sent it to Tim. He sent the gutter people to look at them and they said they are installed correctly and did nothing to fix them. When we contacted Tim about coming to look at them himself he said he would come by a certain date. When he didn't show up by that date, he said he forgot. He said he would come later on that day. When we called to find out if he was still coming, he called me names and said he was done with us.

"First my business means everything to me and I promise to you, my other viewers, I tried everything I could to fix this issue way before the customer posted their review. Now to respond to the review; I did call the customer to let her know that my father-in-law pasted away and I had to be there for family, but it was not three weeks after the time I said I would be there.(week tops) Then the first day I got there I delivered the materials and all of my ladders/tools I needed. I went to take off the siding and there was no plywood behind it so I told the homeowner right away. I didn't have the right tools for what that involved or the plywood so I said I would be back the next day. So the next day when I got there he started yelling at me for not having the plywood cut already I tried to explain there is no way I could cut it at home due to the fact the plywood had to land on the middle of the stud and there is no way of knowing that measurement off of the job site or without all the siding off. Later he came out and apologized for his yelling and I said its okay everyone has a bad day everything was fine. After completing the siding and soffit then came the gutters. On my quote I said leaf guard protection NOT Leaf Guard Brand I did not make a mistake and I never said I did, but to be nice and try to keep the customer happy I tried to see it from thier point of view and took money off of the bill for that hoping to keep my flawless reviews on Angies List as well as to maintain customer satisfaction. So we both agreed that the bill would be reduced for the misunderstanding on the customers side. Then yes I did get the video and saw that the rain was coming over the gutters in one area. After this I called my gutter guys and they went out there to look. He said the way their roof is designed in that area it would be hard to find a way to fix the problem. Mainly because he has a commercial roof system on a residential house so he was out of ideas. So I tried many times to make an appointment with the homeowner to come and look and find a way to fix it. Every time I talked to him he was yelling at me and would not work with both mine and his schedules. One time that would work for us both, when I was almost there he called yelling at me again saying it wouldn't work for him even though he was home and I live an hour in a half away. That was my last straw and I did say I am done I did/tried everything I could but I DID NOT CALL THEM NAMES I would never do that to my business. I'm sorry this review had to be this way my wife knows how much this customer has yelled at me while I was working and on the phone and how much that bothered me on a daily basis trying to figure out a way to make them happy with the work done. So after reading this I hope it clears some up for the bad review but if any other customers or future customers have any questions on this please call me and I would be more than willing to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding this specific incident/customer. This one incident does not effect my workmanship or my loyalty. I am always willing to go above and beyond to satisfy the customer in their construction needs. Thanks so much for reading Tim."

After the May hail damage, we had lots to get fixed.  I had used Tim not too long before that storm, so I knew what his skill set was.  He came in the fall and replaced our roof on the house and the shed.  He had a team of 3 and they  got it done in a weekend. My main concern of doing the roof, was the nails that would end up on the ground.  I have 2 dogs so it was imperative that they find all of the nails that have fallen particularly in the back yard where my boys run. His team was friendly and hard working.  The past few weeks Tim was back as a one man show to tear off and put up our new siding.  He worked with me to get the exact color I was looking for. He then sided the shed in back. He had to do a lot of bending metal and changing out how the door closing worked.  The shed is now matching the house and doesn't look like a yellow barn anymore.  Then, I asked if he could take the porch railing off for me and enclose the posts with metal so I didn't have to paint and maintain them.  Tim is meticulous and very conscientious.  I would hire him again without question.

Al Borchardt & Son provided one of three estimates I got for the job. Of the three they were far and away the lowest bidder ($120 vs $600). Moreover, the $600 bidder planned to tack on another $70 for the siding pieces, these guys added $18 (a cost I would think should have been the same). I can also commend them on their professionalism. When they told me they would come they did. Moreover, they did a great job on the repairs.
I couldn't have been happier!

Tim was a joy to see every morning. We knew amazing changes would take place each day. I talked with him about changes and he had great ideas to enchance the look we were trying to achieve. He is self motivated and take great pride in his wook.It seems to me -- he looks at each house as a work of art and ours could not look better. We are so pleased that we still look and say what a excellent transformation . I found out he can do many projects, and he will be frist on my list to call.Thank you Tim

I called in the morning and by the afternoon Tim was here and was fixing our flashing on our Garage. Then, I mentioned something about our garage wall not being secured and he ran and got something to fix that as well.  He went above and beyond for us!  I would definitely call them again for future projects.  Thanks TIM!

Tim, the Son in the business, installed the siding on our custom built home.  We were so impressed with the quality of his work and professionalism that we have had him do additional work (listed above).  Tim is always on time and responsive to our needs.  We have great trust in him and his work and will have back when ever the need arises.

Tim and Gary were responsive, flexible, neat, tidy, polite, ALL GOOD.  They were upfront about their schedule on other jobs and worked with us to schedule ours to everyone's convenience.  They gave TONS of on-the-fly advice.  They tore off the old wooden siding, found a few underlying issues and promptly told us about them and fixed them.  The house looks amazing already and they are a joy to have around.  Worked pleasantly and cleaned up great. We had gotten a couple of estimates but Tim's came back fastest and he was just so easy to talk to, it wasn't hard to decide. Plus part of his crew had done the roof last year and the work was great, the guys were kind-polite-prompt, it just seemed best to go with a proven quantity.  We will use Borchardt & Sons for all future work on our house if there is any left to do!

"Member, Thank you so much for the good review and opening my eyes to Angie's List its a great way for homeowners to tell me what I am doing right/wrong so I can learn from that and fix something that needs fixing."
