Wolfe Tree Service

We received 4 quotes to take down what has been called the largest basswood tree the tree removal companies have seen in awhile. We chose to go with Tanner from Wolfe Tree Services. Tanner was very responsive. We called him on Monday evening and he was at our house at 8:00a Tuesday morning to give us an estimate. He was very kind and knowledgeable. While they were not the lowest bid (honoring the quality work they provide), we felt we could trust his work and we chose to go with them. We were not disappointed. They provided the tree removal service within 3 days of providing the quote (the delay of 3 days was only due to rain). They showed up early, ready to work hard. They were efficient, friendly and had the entire job completed in what we felt was record time. We were very happy with the service and felt good about supporting a young man taking over his father's business and a local company.

Butch and crew are absolutely excellent.  We've used them for years and give them As all the way.  He responded very propmptly at an extremely busy time of year for him to our last-minute request.  He was careful to avoid heavy equipment over our new septic field.  And a special bonus, he offered us a full chipper load of cedar chips from the previous job, which are wonderful, and he took away all the chippings from the wretched box elder.  Love it!  Always pleasure to work with!!

Exactly as I wanted and expected.
Butch and his crew are some of the hardest working people I have seen.
Arrived right on time and performed the work we requested.
Kept us informed and checked to see if we were satisfied or wanted anything else done..

Work has to be done in winter to prevent oak disease and ground damage. This winter has been brutal, freezing cold with heavy snow cover, making this job very difficult. Contractor spent a full day and a half taking down and removing five large dead elm and oak trees, trimming a number of other oaks, and cleaning up remains. Work was done very professionally throughout for a remarkably reasonable price.

Ultimately they came a did a nice job with it. They left the wood I wanted and left no mess behind.

They took a while to pick a date to come and do the work (this is weather-dependent work and it's hard to predict exact scheduling) but once they arrived they were very efficient. They had a team of people and several big machines (cherry picker, chipper, trucks to remove wood and debris) and they were in and out very quickly (less than a day). It helped that there was access for the big machinery via one of the neighbor's driveway. I was pleased that they seemed to be safety-conscious. Very professional.

A big storm came through town and broke the top 75% of a 100 year old maple into our yard on Sunday afternoon. The fire department cleared my driveway and the sidewalk by dragging the branches into the yard. I called B**** first thing Monday morning and he said he'd already seen the yard and the tree wasn't salvagable. He lives in the same town and had seen the yard while working for the village doing clean up in the park. He quoted me $400 to remove all the branches, take the rest of the tree down and grind the stump and he said he'd be there by 9am on Tuesday morning. He arrived on time and his crew got to work and they were done and gone by 1130am. The bill came a week later and it was $400 plus tax ($422). Great job and super effiecient. His number is going in my "home services" phone list.
