Top Hat had the best price of 3 companies I worked with for replacement of an old wood-burning fireplace with a gas fireplace. They were nice for sales and design. They were willing to hire a carpenter for the bookshelves and work with me to keep a budget. That all went well. I actually got all this work done about 4 years ago. But it has taken me years to realize what an awful job they did on the install. First of all, they cut through the drywall in my garage and forgot to re-install any insulation (in winter my front room was extremely cold so they had to come back out and investigate - that's when they realized the didn't put any insulation into the wall behind the fireplace). They just used silver tape to tape back up the dryway in the garage instead of replacing it, and over two years it has peeled off and I've had to spend my own money for repairs. I got my roof replaced this year and the roofer was shocked at the chimney install - he said they did not caulk any of the screws which caused leaking of the roof.
I like how the project turned out on the inside, but it's taken me years to realize how amateur the installation was. Not Recommended.
