Move on, you will thank me later, or maybe you won’t… but you won’t be out of thousands of dollars due to a misleading deceptive company only concerned about one thing… getting your money! If this review serves just one person from ever considering hiring this company to move their belongings, it’s worth it. If you want to continue reading the detail below about this horrible company please do, but if you don’t.. YOU HAVE BEEBN WARNED! Again, DO NOT HIRE SCHROEDER MOVING SYSTEMS for any local or out of state moves. So here’s the story… My wife and I had planned at move from Waukesha, WI to Woodstock, GA. Tony Marinello from Schroeder came over our house on 3/18/19, inventoried our belongings and gave us an estimate just over $10K for a partial-pack move based on .60 cents per pound. This is the last time I saw Tony in person. When our house sold in May, I again called Tony and told him we were ready to move forward, so he put me in touch with Muge Smith, his moving coordinator. I called Muge on 5/22/19 and told her we were ready to make the move, but I was now interested in a full-pack move, which would cost about $4K more. I specifically asked her if a full-pack move also meant Schroeder/United would be liable for any damages if something were to break or be damaged and she said “yes”, so she sent over the paper work and I signed it on 6/3/19, anticipating a 6/28/19 move date. This is where stuff goes wrong… On 6/26/19, a nice elderly gentleman showed up named Clyde. He said he was here to pack our house over the next 2 days. Yes, just one guy in his 60’s to pack our ENTIRE 5-bedroom home and 4-car garage. After many concerned calls to Muge, she assured me everything would be done in 2 days so we could load everything on the truck by 6/28/19. Yes, this is the additional $4K I paid extra for… On 6/28 a few rooms, our garage and kitchen were still not packed and all the movers showed up to start loading. Clyde continued to pack, but guess what… not everything would fit on the semi, so a second smaller truck was ordered to ship our belongings. On 7/2, our main shipment in the semi arrived however my vintage signed Brett Farve helmet was damaged, along with a bed frame and mattress, estimated at $3,200 in loss, all due to improper packing and loading by Schroeder. Knowing I had several items damaged, I submitted an online claim, but was later told I would be only paid .60 cents on pound for the damages, making my $3,200 claim worth only $54.00. Tony nor did anyone at Schroeder ever offer to explain that I had to pay extra for additional insurance to cover any damages. Yes, that right folks, a bottle of nail polish is worth more than a diamond ring, simply because it weighs more! I am now in arbitration with Schroeder because they refuse to pay. Now if you remember, all of belongings would not fit on one semi. so a second truck was ordered. Long story short, they couldn’t get anyone to drive my belongings from WI to GA, so for the next 2 weeks my stuff sat at a Schroder warehouse. During this time I was given multiple excuses by Muge why items have not shipped. Finally, 18 days after our first shipment arrived the 2nd truck came. During this time, I was forced to buy hundreds of dollar’s worth of tools and supplies I needed to move into our new house. All of this could have been avoided if the 2nd truck would of arrived in a timely manner. All and all, I have never been so disappointed, frustrated, and angry with a company that has an ounce of integrity to stand on. Making an out of state move is not easy on anyone.. you have to worry about your, job, kids, 2 houses.. and the move. Schroeder does not make it any easier on you. It would be nice if I would of gotten a follow-up call from someone who cared or to pay for the damages incurred. Nope, all I got was an online survey. Again, DO NOT HIRE SCHROEDER MOVING SYSTEMS!
