Installed as required. When the owner drove my car, he said the warning lights on the dash indicated that the VSC (vehicle stability control) had a problem. I had it checked out by another mechanic before I took it to him, as I was going on a long trip (PA). The car did not display any fault codes relating to the VSC. (The other mechanic could not do the exhaust, as he did not have a lift to to the work.)
Shawn (the owner) said that I could come back after the trip and he would have it checked out with the scanner. When I took it back to their shop, his son who works with him, said that the ECM was malfunctioning after briefly looking at the scanning tool. I thought that it was due to the installation, maybe there were wires that were damaged causing the fault codes.
The son went into the shop and Shawn came out 15 seconds later, screaming at me that he has worked on cars for 30 years and that I have no money, and that I am a moron. Essentially, the owner will not take any responsibility for any damage.
Took to another mechanic. Turns out the the son did not erase any codes and the car is fine.
I paid $750 for the installation that took about 4-5 hours and they kept the catalytic converters that are about $100 each for scrap. There was 4 converters on my car. That is above the $750.
So, it is apparent that this kid does not have the knowledge that it takes to be a auto service technician. As for the owner, he should listen to the customer before he believes what his kid says.
