Did good job but he had health issues and we feel the job was not completed as we expected. Never returned phone calls. Do not know if he is still in business. We are having to finish the job ourselves. Wish he had returned our calls. Would use him again if he would answer.

We heat our home with an in-basement wood furnace. January, 2013 I discovered that a piece of tile broke loose and fell inside the
chimney. I called Elmer about possibly installing a metal liner or whatever needed to be done to get the chimney back in service for the
winter. I am an avid do-it-yourselfer but not experienced with what is safe for wood furnace chimneys. Through the discussion we were able to come to a most cost effective fix using a spare chimney located next to the bad one. He gave what I believe to be good advice without charging for his time. Then come spring I needed to complete the repair work but, again, I needed someone to look at the chimney and tell me what needed to be done to make the chimney safe for the long term. Elmer came to our house to inspect the
chimney and tell me what to do. He also inspected my work done during the winter to be sure it was done properly. Considering his drive time and the time he spent at the house, I think the fee he charged was reasonable. He didn’t actually do any of the work on my
chimney but from his comments, I feel he is experienced and I wouldn’t think twice about hiring him to do any repair work I couldn’t do.

He is very timely and as clean as a chimney sweep can be.
