Excellent experience. Work was done in a prompt, efficient and professional manner. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. High quality material and workmanship. Jan and all his subcontractors were extremely easy to work with and VERY cooperative. Jan was on site quite often and communication was outstanding. Could not be happier. Highly recommended!!!!!!

I'd hire Jan and his team again. They were punctual and did great work. When they tore off the old deck, they realized the old supports were rotted so badly, nothing could be saved; no way they could have known this. No extra labor charged for what was a lot of extra work. I'd hire them again for any project, as they do a lot more than decks.

After demolishing our 100-year-old barn in the fall of 2018, we hired Jan to build a 30’ x 40’ garage in the spring/summer of 2019. We had extensive fill put on the new building site in the fall. Jan was anxious to begin in the spring, but waited until conditions were right for being sure the fill was compacted correctly. (Spring 2019 was super rainy.) Every aspect of the building was done with quality work. We used LP Smartside siding. The two men that installed the siding did a meticulous job; the caulking was awesome. Everything else was put together professionally. We received lots of comments like “You have a good builder.” Several even commented on how neatly the electrical wires were installed. In addition to the garage foundation, Nate Werner and crew put in a large concrete driveway with sidewalk and parking slab. The road is a little higher than the garage, but Nate designed the driveway so the water runs away from the garage. Once Jan was able to start building, the garage was pretty much completed in three weeks. Jan is very good about returning messages—always within 24 hours. We know nothing about building, so Jan also gave us good advice about some things we didn’t know. Working with Jan and his crew was a great experience.

They arrived and in a total of five days, they removed the old porch and replaced it with a beautiful new structure. They encountered numerous issues but handled everything with professional advice, humor and efficiency. The curb appeal of the house has vastly increased. They maintain the integrity of the structure as well as updating the appearance. Frankly, we love these guys!

It went incredibly well! Jan is extremely easy to work with. He is a good listener, and he does a great job of explaining everything that a job entails. He walked me through every step of what we wanted with our deck, and we ended up with a finished product that was even better than what we had pictured. He is a true professional, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Jan did a very good job constructing our custom design horse barn. There are certain challenges that come with custom designs that we were able to overcome. There was no delay in addressing our concerns and questions, and revisions to the plans. The return calls were almost immediate. The time frame was a concern with winter approaching and the need to get our horses home, which we were able to do. He was reasonably priced and easy to work with. There was no hesitation when asked to do “extra” work, not related to the barn. He was even able to assist us with some of the red tape that came with our situation.

Terrible! Do not use this contractor. Left a huge mess everywhere and lied about everything. Not professional at all and told me one thing and did another. Did not show up on time or work 8 hour days. Left the job because they said rain was coming and rain never came. Left the house exposed to the weather and I had to secure it myself. Please stay away from this clown and save yourself time, money, and aggregation. Check his criminal record before letting him on your property.

Jan, Randy and the entire crew are awesome. They measured, ordered and replaced/installed a large bay in our kitchen and a small bathroom window, correcting water damage in the drywall around that bathroom window. They come when they say they will and the end result is always wonderful. This was not the first job they have done for us and we sure hope it won't be the last!

Borgwardt construction did excellent work, they were also reasonably priced and easy to work with. We started out with just doing an addition, they were flexible when we added work from what was originally agreed to. We started off with just an addition done but because we found a contractor that we felt comfortable with we continued to add work to our original project. Jan always made us a priority throughout the time we worked with him. I would hire them again without hesitation.

The support beams and sides for the roof on our front door open porch were rotted and I was concerned that eventually the roof would collapse. They came out to give me an estimate and discussed options. The siding on the house is cedar and I thought cedar posts would be a good way to go. We discussed how it would be done and look. When finished it was better than I expected. They ran into numerous problems in the replacement. We found the rotting was due to carpenter ants that were all through the wood as they torn it down. It didn't deter them!! They also found everything wasn't even/level and they did a fabulous job compensating. The guys who worked on it were seasoned professionals!! The porch looks great. They did everything in one day and cleaned up beautifully.

We are very happy with all the work Jan and his crew accomplished over the summer. One of our concerns was finding the right contractor someone who had experience with a variety of work and had done work on older home construction remodeling. We started with a complete bathroom remodel. They designed and built the walls and installed windows to go with our new bathroom it is just what we wanted. We had many windows replaced good quality windows were important. It has been a few months now since all has been completed?we have had time to really see?the difference in our home,?it is warmer?has more room with the dormer and looks great with the new siding and roof and we love our windows.? If people ask us if we know a good contractor it would Borgwardt Construction. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? We would like to update our review for Jan and his company. It is the end of March and we have noticed a big improvement in our heating bill this winter. We have had no trouble with the windows or ice problems with the new gutters. We love the new roof and siding and look forward to having?more work done in the future.?Finding someone with experience in older home remodeling is important to a lot of people like us who appreciate good craftsmanship and want to preserve the look and feel these older homes?so often have.?????????????????????
