Family Man Handyman

Family Man Handyman brought the dream of a new 10x16 shed to life. We had a vision of a shed that would look like it was part of our home. From the very start of the project to the last touch up painting Family Man Handyman demonstrated outstanding expertise and professionalism. They were always on time and cheerful throughout the entire building project. Updates through phone conversations kept us informed on their progress. Thank you to the entire staff (Shawn, Cody, Patrick, Zach, Tim and Alyssa) for a job well done.

The finished job was so good we no longer use it as a mudroom. It is now our pantry. The work by their team, our main man Tim, Francesco and Kennedy was exceptionally good. They worked well together and were totally reliable, great manners and a pleasure to have around. They did stud repair, windows, leveled and laid new flooring, drywall, texture, trim, and doors not to mention sliding glass door removal. Architectural changes were very tasteful and verified with owner every step of the way.

Excellent customer service and communication. Patrick and Tim were both great to work with. Patrick did the on-site consultation with us. Tim was in charge of the work. They made it super easy to review the proposal/costs by sending it via email. It was very easy to pay online. We provided some materials and they purchased some for us. We would definitely use them again.

Once again, these guys did fantastic work. First, they replaced the old rusted out hinges on my garage doors, which are carriage-style and swing open like doors. I picked up the hinges, but before scheduling the job, Patrick told me what elements I needed to look for, and said each hinge would need to able to support 50 lbs, and be powder-coated if possible. That was great information as I quickly discovered much of what is out there is decorative, has a lower load capacity, or doesn't list a weight/load capacity at all. What I didn't realize was the existing hinges were reverse hinges, and I purchased standard hinges. However, Patrick was able to shim up the door frame and mount the standard hinges perfectly. The old hinges had rust cancer, had been painted over several times, and I'm sure were not easy to clean off the doors. Obviously the doors were quite heavy and it took two people to do the job. In the process they identified some rot at the base of door frame, and were able to replace it, too. The doors with the new hinges meet together and work perfectly. A few weeks later, a rotten siding board revealed there was also rot damage to the sub-wall at the northeast corner of my house. I sent pictures, and Zack promptly replied to schedule the job. Patrick came out again and demoed the rotten material. He covered the exposed area in plastic to protect from the rain, then scheduled again a couple days later to finish up the job. It looks great. As they had in a previous job, they got siding to match the existing original siding on my 1938 home, so the new material blends perfectly with the old. Overall, these guys are great, and I'm happy to recommend them for similar jobs. The communication is excellent, prompt, clear, and just easy. They are friendly, professional, and great carpenters. Patrick also shared some great tips/info for protecting my house from further rot, such as filling a small area with mortar at the base of the garage door frame to protect from rainwater that it would inevitably come in contact with, due to the building standards of 1938. The job went great from start to finish. I called, and Zack answered the phone right away. We discussed what I needed, he explained how time was blocked out, scheduled the appointment right then, and I followed up with pictures. Based on the pictures he made adjustments to the time needed, and sent out two workers to do the job. Both were professional, communicative, friendly, efficient, and did great work. The window rot was removed, as well as some additional rot below the frame. They rebuilt the window to match the character of my home and replaced some bad siding boards. Patrick finished up by walking around my house with me and checking some other areas that I had concern about. Shortly afterwards, Zack followed up and touched base about the other projects I had in mind to get those scheduled as well. After having other companies come out to quote, and then be non-responsive to my calls and emails, I was frustrated and worried the window would not be replaced. Working with Zack and the rest of the Family Man Handyman team was so easy from start to finish, and the results great, I will definitely be working with them in the future when as other projects come up. I strongly recommend them.

Good. They were a little late but did call to tell me. I liked the way they tested my down spouts with water to make sure the cleaning worked and nothing was clogged. The screen door looks nice.

Zack and crew were efficient and cleaned up very well afterwards. We appreciated the detailed explanations of what needed to be done, how long it would take and the cost. Coordinating dates and times worked very well. We had to make changes in what we requested and Zack was very accommodating. Excellent timely results. Will request service in the future.

Response to service initially was very timely and the work performed was great. The overall price of the service was also fair.

Zack and the crew of Family Man Handyman did a fantastic job repairing our house that was severely damaged by fire. Nearly the entire interior was gutted by the fire followed by the cleanup. It was a rental property and we live across the country, so the majority of the communication was long distance. Zack did a great job keeping us updated and helping us make some hard decisions. Thanks to him and his crew we actually added value to our property by the time work was completed.

I had several projects that I have been putting off doing (not time or not the right tools). I selected Family Man Handyman based on their Angie’s List reviews and they were right. The quality of the work and attention to detail was awesome. I now have my ceiling fan, wall-mount TV, and garage storage installed. I will definitely be calling them again.

Initially, we thought this would be a simple repair job of a water leak in our rec room window, located directly under a second story balcony. After exploration of the interior wall above the window, we found a completely saturated interior wall, rot, and it quickly turned into a significant repair job. Zack could have repaired the balcony, but I elected to have it removed, as it has caused many problems over the years. Zack and his crew did an amazing job under difficult conditions - cold, wet, snow in February. His crew methodically removed the balcony, repaired interior wall, replaced drywall, insulation, exterior siding, a new window to replace the balcony.

This was one of the easiest hirings I have ever done. Communication with Zach was excellent. The company texts status of their workers when they are on the way to the job, they phone when it is needed (for decisions, estimates, updates), and email quotes for approval/disapproval, and invoices. SO perfect and easy! If you don't want all the electronic communication, they do landlines and paper estimates and invoices as well. Patrick was the lead man for my job. He came over to assess all the different jobs I had. He gave me ideas and helped me prioritize the jobs based on the season and my budget. Patrick is very knowledgeable, creative, and talented. His ideas made my porch concept even better than I had dreamed up. The job took as long as they estimated. (2 days). Patrick and his crew cleaned up after each day of work and were hard working the entire time they were at my house. I came out a lot to check progress, and they were patient with me and answered all my questions each time. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and can't get over how beautiful the finished project is. See for yourself in the photos. I have already scheduled another project with Family Man Handyman and they are now my "go to" company for all of the projects that I have on my plate. Highly recommend. Open, honest, professional. Zack and his team did an excellent job. They were attentive and personable, making creative suggestions as they moved through the job. They uncovered areas of prior construction they were not done right and made corrections (i.e. pouring new footing at base of wall). We were also happy with coordination of stone mason work and selection of doors.

I was very happy with Family Handyman Services. Patrick and Kennedy were prompt, stayed busy the entire time they were here, and cleaned up each day prior to leaving. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. I plan to use them for future work.

Since we do not live locally in the area anymore, it was hard to find a good handyman who I could trust to respond in a timely manner, work around a tenant's difficult schedule, and get the job done. Zack and his team have come through for us on quite a few projects (roof cleaning, garage door replacement, window screen replacement). One project was not completed quite to our satisfaction, so Zack worked with us until we were satisfied. You will not be disappointed if you hire Zack and his team.

He did a great job and was able to get my to do list completed except for one item that needed a plumber to handle it. He was very friendly and efficient.
