Dr.Hayes and staff are always professional and helpful and were very careing when I had to put my dog to sleeping.  The only drawback  is that the fees are on the high side,but you get what you pay for in life.|

I initially called the clinic to get an estimate for a neuter. I was told that on average the surgery is about $160. What I was not told was that the cost of the pre-surgery blood work was not included in the estimated price. I initially went in for a consult, dog physical and blood-draw. The vet was nice but the appointment felt a bit rushed and I was given more information than I was able to process within that space of time. It was a moment of information overload. After the consult, I was able to schedule my dog's surgery. The surgery went well; however I was not called prior to the surgery for a reminder of the surgery as well as the requirements such as no food 12 hrs. prior to surgery. During the day after my dog's surgery, I was not called about how it went. I had to call them. After 10 days, we then went in to have the sutures taken out, an appointment I was not informed of during the consult. Additionally, my dog was supposed to receive vaccines while he was there for the surgery. When I picked him up after the surgery, I asked to confirm that the vaccines were given, but it turned out that they forgot to give him the vaccines. They then gave him the vaccinations quickly before we left. Overall, it was an okay experience. The receptionists and vet assistants were all very friendly and remembered my dog and his name from appointment to appointment. It was easy to tell that they and the vet cared for the overall health of my dog. But I want and expect a bit more from my vet. I am going to try another vet next time.

No problems AT ALL

Our dog was itching and breaking out into a rash.  He scratched until he was raw.  Dr. Hayes determined that our dog was allergic to common proteins in most dog foods.  Since switching to and sticking with the prescription dog food his skin condition has completely cleared up.  We have been with Dr. Hayes since we first moved to Yakima 15+ years ago.  He has always been kind, concerned, and thorough.   We recommend him to everyone who asks.  He has helped us take care of our dog and cats, through routine care and specialty care for allergies and diabetes.  He is the best!
