COLONIAL LAWN & GARDEN

Reviews were only mediocre about Colonial, but thought I'd give them a try. Wish I hadn't... They came out and sprayed for weed control, 6700 sq. ft. of lawn and did it all in less than 10 minutes, including dragging hose out and putting away. 2 weeks later only about 20% of weeds were wilting. Had to have them come back out for a 2nd application, of which they charged me for, shouldn't have and didn't refund my payment. They also sprayed for Crabgrass control on a separate occasion and again 2 weeks later, only about 20% of Crabgrass was wilting. Had to have them come back out and spray again. They weren't supposed to spray the Bent grass in the lawn and did it anyway, now dead spots all over my back lawn. Could not be more disappointed in my experience.

We'd gradually lost irrigation water pressure over the past couple of years until there was virtually no water to our pump. The company that had been servicing our system couldn't find and fix the problem. We asked friends and consulted Angie's List for another company. Colonial was consistently at the top of the recommendations we received. The owner, Lance, came out to meet with us, then sent his top guy to figure out the problem. We had to wait a couple of weeks because they have a lot of existing customers and this was at the height of an early heat wave. But when they got to us, they got right to it. They were here on the day they said they'd be, and it took the amount of time they'd estimated. The system takes into account our many kinds of watering needs, from lawn to flower beds to to a series of pots along the house to  a "wild" area to trees. They have already been back twice to tweak the system and to be sure things are going smoothly - which they are. They even reseeded over the trenches they dug in the lawn. We are so impressed with their professional and personable staff. Yes, it's expensive, but all the elements of the system are top notch and durable. The thoughtfulness of the system and the ability to make changes at a later date are outstanding. The service and the system is worth every dollar!

They are excellent. If I give them a call for another issue, it is not a contract such as a tree that's about to fall or a broken sprinkler, I call them and they come right on the spot. I have something scheduled, like a fertilization, they always call me in advance and tell me when they are coming. It is nice to know that I am going to get a heads up in case I need to tell somebody that they are coming to spray so they can keep their dog in or something like that. Every time they come out and had a procedure scheduled, they always call first and let me know. The quality of service that they do, I am very pleased with that.

They are fine. They are very prompt and their pricing is good. If I decide that I do not need the service for a while then that is fine them; we just work it out. They are nice about letting me know when they are coming and if something comes up then they call and let me know.

It went great. My husband loves Colonial. He works with Forsee Lance a lot who is the owner of the company and they are really cooperative. We are on a contract with Colonial for our condo association. They did a couple of different things. They are good and very professional. We always call them if there is an issue. If my husband calls them and asks them to call ahead of time if a guy is going to come out and work on a sprinkler so that he could go out and show them exactly were and they call like they are supposed to.

They do dormant spraying in early spring and follow up. They are reliable. I trust them.
