The first person we met from Central Valley Glass arrived as planned and determined that they could replace the window. He took measurements and gave us an approximate time we could expect the new window. The Company called when the window was ready and schedulet a time for the installation. They arrived and removed the old window. Upon attempting to install the new window they discovered that the new window did not fit properly. They remeasured, re-set the old window and gave us an approximate date for a replacement window. When the new window arrived they called and gave us a time and date for installation. This time the installation went will, the work looks good, and they sealed the new window. It looks good. We were satisfied with the workers and the work. The mistake on the first measurement probably happens to everyone now and then. It was corrected satisfactorily.

The overall experience was excellent. They did a good job. The glass looks just like the day they put it in. I have had no problems with it. They did it in two days. They did 1 window at a time. The price was very good. We had several bids and you wouldn't believe the difference in bids. We even had one bid for triple-pane windows of $24,000. We went with this local company which was the cheapest bid and it went really well. These new windows have special silver coatings which allow infrared rays to come through the windows in the wintertime. In summer, it reflects the heat back out. It has made a real difference in our heating and cooling bills. Their quality is great. Their responsiveness was good, we set an appointment when they would come, and they came and did what they said they were going to do. They were on time and their professionalism was excellent.

One of our kids accidentally broke the stationary panel (27" x 30") of our dual pane window. The window contained white grid between glass. We called Central Valley Glass and requested a bid. They arrived exactly as scheduled and took measurements. No B.S. and the guy was gone in five minutes. The office contacted us the next business day with a price and asked for a deposit before ordering the replacement panel. I stopped by their office and paid the whole thing in advance since the price was low. They called three business days later and scheduled appointment to install the next day at 2:00 PM. They arrived at 1:50 PM and were gone by 2:10 PM. They window is a perfect match. The installer was friendly and professional. The next time we need anything related to glass Central Valley Glass will be my first call.

At most levels they knew what they were doing, but on some levels the experience was not a good one. They were dirty and didn't take care of the customer's property by protecting it from dirt and grime which would have been very easy to do. In that respect I feel very negative about my experience with them. The price was fair. They were supposed to come back within four or five days and correct some difficulties with the job. It is now almost a month later and they still haven't returned to do it.
Response from Central Valley Glass
"Mmeber, as you know we returned Tuesday June 8 to do the service work. We had to wait for the factory to approve and to manufacture the parts that were covered under warranty. Once we completed the repair it is my understanding that you were very satisfied with the window replacements. Once again we apologize for any inconvenience you might have occurred."

Steve emailed us the bid a couple days after he got his measurements. The other two bidders insisted on giving us their bids in person the same day. I'd much rather get an email. We gave them the job on Friday 4/9/10 and decided to add the stormdoors while we were in their office. Steve was out at our house 2 hours later getting the door measurements. The windows were installed 4/14-15. When we returned to Yakima 4/16 we were very satisfied with the professionally installation. The old windows and stormwindows were completely removed and the window casings were in surprisingly good shape. They look great. We were under the impression the doors would be installed at the same time, but they were not. We understood they were a added at the last minute, so we weren't surprised or disappointed. I paid them the balance due for the windows by mail and attached a note about the doors. I mentioned that we'd be back in Yakima on 5/1. When we arrived 5/1, there were still no stormdoors. I called them the following Monday and was told they had to be ordered and wouldn't be installed until 5/13. This was no big deal (the installation was good), but I think they could have communicated with us a little better. This is my only slight complaint on an otherwise very positive experience
Response from Central Valley Glass
"Thank you for your response to the work that our Company preformed at your home. It is always good to hear how our employees are doing and in this case sounds like they did a good job. The storm doors that we sell take 4 - 5 weeks production time. We appreciate your business and patience. Please give us a call if you have any warranty or service issues."
