Went badly - shoddy work, didn't show when promised, finally quit before finished.

The overall project took one week shy of two years. Many times three or four weeks would go by with no contact or activity. Nearly every dialog and follow-up had to be started by us. I stopped and checked progress nearly every day of the two years, I had a pretty good idea of what was happening. At one point, we called about the status of a particular step, they indicated that the bathroom tile needed to be completed before they could resume their work. The tile had been finished for two weeks when I called, obviously, they hadn't been at the job site. This is just one example of many during the project.
The subs were generally pretty good and efficient, but they ran into the same communication problems that we did, several voiced their frustrations to us. The supervisor was seldom on site, the cabinet sub started and competed his work and never saw him on site.
We finally moved in, we agreed to a short punch list to wrap up the job. It took nearly six months to do that. One item was giving us all of the house keys that came with the door locks. At the time of agreeing to the list, the supervisor said he had them on his desk, he would get them to us. We never received them, he said he didn't have them, he had already given them to us. Fortunately, we were able to take a key out of a lockbox at the house and had duplicates made.
And, you probably guessed it, there were problems with the final bill. We were charged for work that we did not sign a change order for, items that should have been submitted to the insurance company, and billed for work they did not complete.
I would not use them again, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Save yourself some grief in an already stressful situation, check references and take your time before selecting a fire restoration company.

They were awful. It took them 2 years to figure out that they didn't know what they were doing. They started building without permits and all kinds of crap. They got paid way more than they should have due to the insurance. They had to tear it all down because they did it wrong. They were not professional at all. They kept sending guys to work that didn't know what they were doing. We were assured that a supervisor would be on hand when they started the work and we never saw him again. They sent guys that hadn't a clue. It was bad from start to finish. They are a big company.
