I called and requested an inspection for a specific day and time of day. The weather was below freezing that week and they were unable to confirm that time.. As the weather got better, I called again and they said that they could come out. On the day, they called when they left Woodland and arrived within the appointed time. Inspection took a short time, technician walked the property to observe potential problems; he dug the tank lid, sampled, etc. When he was finished, he covered the lid; smoothed out the area, completed the inspection report; collected his fee and left. All in all, a quick and efficient process.

Just like last year Bob did a great job. He was exaclty on time, professional, thorough, patient, and easy-going. He explained each step of the inspection in plain english so it was easy to understand. Groat Brothers, Inc. is a company that does its work well and in a no nonsense professional manner. That's exactly what I want and expect. I would recommend them to my friends or anyone. I'll use them again next year.
Description of Work
Clark County in WA State requires that my "Mound Septic System" be inspected every year. A formal notification is sent. Along with that they provide a list of certified inspectors to choose from. This is the second year in a row that I have used Groat Brothers, Inc., chosen from that list. The inspection consists of opening two settling chamber man-hole covers and one pump chamber man-hole cover. Each is given a visual inspection. The pump is tested and the enclosing screen cleaned if necessary. In addition, a long transparent hollow incremented pole is inserted into the chamber and the fluids are checked for sludge build-up. If the sludge is above a certain level, than the settling chamber must be pumped by regulation, at an additional charge. Mine did not exceed that threshold. Bob also walked up onto my septic mound and did a visual inspection of it, checking for signs of leakage or deterioration. None was found. Afterwards, according to Bob, Groat Brothers will send their inspection report to the county electronically, which I believe can be accessed via the internet.
