In May 2015 I had a complaint on Tile Pro on roof cleaning. I indicated at that time I would use them again for future roofing jobs - because they did a good job fixing a leak on my roof a couple of years ago.
Last month I had a roof leak again. I called Tile Pro and Steve came promptly the next day. He found a cracked tile, which he replaced. He also repositioned a tile that had slid down. He was courteous and professional. No charge because he said he didn't do very much! It's been no further leak so far.
When the two workmen found out that blow cleaning did not get the moss off the tiles, they decided to stop. They called their boss, who told them to continue blow cleaning anyway, then clean the gutters afterwards. As a result, the roof was not cleaned. I had to hire another contractor to power wash the roof and clean the gutters again.
Tile Pro should have stopped blow cleaning when they found out the moss wouldn't come off. Since Tile Pro Roofing did not do what it was contracted to do, I do not feel I should be obligated to pay for the bill.
I had questions about taking care of the tiles and they taught me a lot and even had spare tile that no one else has been able to provide. I will never let other company touch this roof again. I am very happy.
In short, the work was not properly done and the solution they provided is not solving the problem we requested to be worked on.
After the roof work in July 2013, the first time when it rained (at the beginning of September), we had a severe leaking in an area that we didn't have any leakage before the roof work or during the power wash of the roof. Water was flowing down from one of the recessed light fixture in the ceiling during the rain. We collected a large pot full of rain water from the leakage site. This leakage site is under one of the valleys that had been cleaned. During the work process of putting in the metal flashing in this part of the roof, a very large piece of heavy plastic under the tiles put in by the previous owner was removed. A few days after reporting the problem to Steve, Steve sent in someone to put in downspout in this section of the roof as a temporary fix of the problem. We raised our concerns to Steve that this won?t really fix the underlying leakage. Since mid-September to now the Christmas eve, we have called Steve multiple times regarding this problem, but had no solution to it. There are also other issues with the roof work that we had talked to Steve about. During rains, all of the places where there is a gutter spike drip water behind the gutter along the wood structure. We didn?t have this problem before the metal flashing was installed. Steve mentioned that proper caulking is needed at the spike junction. But this hasn?t been done. In addition, the temporary downspout is of very poor workmanship, as pointed out by people who did gutter work for us later. When we first reported these issues to Steve in September, his response was positive after he looked at the roof. He confirmed to us that he will take care of those under warranty. However, those promise has never be fulfilled and now there are areas start showing rust due to water leakage around the nail holes.
The listed owner Ed and Steve did stop by yesterday to tell us the leak including the the area under the newly installed anti-ponding metal is our problem. They did agree it's poor workmanship that caused the rush on the side.
He also repaired a small roof leak at the same time as he was installing the anti ponding material without any additional charge.
No upselling. Another gutter company that came out to give me a bid told me I needed to replace all my gutters and do much more work. Which was not the case.
When I contacted a REAL Tile roofing pro he actually came out and pulled the tile in the problem area. He found no evidence of any water below the tile anywhere near the leak and recommended I have the chimney inspected. I eventually found that water was seeping into the masonry of the chimney and working its way down my rafters to the leak location. I had the chimney inspected and sealed with masonry sealant and the problem was resolved.
The amazing thing about this is that if I had replacement roof installed as Tile Pros recommended it would have not had any effect at all on the leak. The only effect would have been lining Tile Pros pockets.
I picked Tile Pro because their estimate came in thousands of dollars below other vendors. That's because they correctly identified what work truly needed to be done and did only that work. Another vendor wanted to replace the gutter on my garage, even though the problem was that the water wasn't getting into the gutter in the first place. Tile Pro did a fine job.
The crew of 4 arrived at the agreed upon time. They had to wait a few minutes for the sun to melt the frost on the roof. They performed the work exactly as described in the bid and even addressed a small flashing problem near the chimney that I forgot to mention earlier. They spread tarps as needed to catch all debris and swept the whole driveway when finished. The crew leader kept me informed and answered all of my questions as the job progressed.
A few weeks after the work was done, I noticed water flowing behind the gutter at one corner of the house. I placed a call to Tile Pro and had to leave a message on their answering machine. The owner called me back later that day to understand what the problem was.
I am very pleased with the work performed and the professionalism of all of the Tile Pro people I dealt with. They did exactly what they promised and stood behind their work with a cheerful can-do attitude. I whole heartedly recommend them for any tile roof work. It can be difficult to find someone to work on tile roofs, let alone do an outstanding job.
