All the planning questions were answered prior to starting the five week project. Jake cooridnated two crews and material deliveries to keep the project ahead of schedule. Problems were handled quickly and communications often included the home owner direct. Good communications and responsiveness made this an excelllent job. There was a continuous effort to go the extra mile to see that everyone was satisfied.

I would not have believed that anyone could completely replace our roof between Monday and Friday. Stout Roofing did, and they did a good job, too. On the first day, the gigantic dumpster arrived and they ripped off the old cedar shakes. They put down a layer of plywood skip sheeting and applied the composite over that. They had a large team that worked efficiently and professionally. We had them replace six skylights also. The results are a beautiful new roof. Jake Stout came by afterward to ensure they had done things right and that we were happy. It took another day to remove the old skylights and seal off the overhangs from varmints, but these were minor issues after a job well done.

I selected Stout Roofing as a possible contractor (among others from Angie's list) due to his very high rating and the excellent customer reports on Angie's list. Jake Stout responded quickly and performed a very thorough estimate for replacement with composition shingles (my choice) including old roof tear-off, installation of the necessary plywood decking over the skip-sheeting base of the shake roof, and installation of the new roof with all new flashing, vents, etc.. His total price was competitive with the best of the other estimates. I selected Stout Roofing as my first choice based on price, excellent customer reports, and availability to start quickly. I am very satisfied with the process and the results of the project. Due to the size and complexity of my roof, the project consumed five working days. The crew arrived each morning at the expected time and worked diligently each day for nearly 10 hours and cleaned up beautifully each day - I was impressed with the "work ethic" of the crew and the excellent quality of their work. I'm very happy with the final result. I have no hesitation in recommending Stout Roofing highly. In fact, it appears that several of my neighbors will be selecting Stout Roofing for replacement roofs after observing my project and discussing my satisfaction.

They were great. Perhaps they were not in best communication when the workers were shoving up. That did not really matter to me. The workers were very pleasant, hard working and tidy.

The president/founder of this roofing company responded right away to my phone message, and then came out persoally and repaired my roof that same day. Great service and very reasonable cost.

I have used this company before. They put a roof on my previous home and now one on the garage of my current home. He gave me an excellent estimate. He came and had a very efficient crew. They did the job, left things nicely and so far, so good. Everything is fine. He was the cheapest quote. I used them before and I was happy with the job he initially did. His price was the lowest. He came in one day, did it in one day and they were through. My neighbor used somebody I had gotten a quote from and they were hanging around for 3 or 4 days. I felt lucky. They were really good. No arguments.

They were excellent. He was very responsive; we had a couple of bids out and he?s the only one that called back. He ensured that the lawn was clean when they left, it was well done, the price was competitive, and they finished when they said they would. I have no complaints and I have recommended them to a couple of friends who also used him.

I had a roof leak "emergency". Mr. Stout came out right away. He checked the roof, found the problem and fixed it right then. He was professional and explained what had happened to cause the problem. I would recommend him and use him again myself.

They did everything when they said they would do it. They were inconspicuous and cleaned up after themselves. They did a great job. They matched the pattern so well and cleaned up so well that I had to call them to ask if they had done the work. They were slightly more pricey than the competitor, but they were a better company.

We have used Stout roofing previously for a complete tear off and reconstruction of our pitched roof. They were excellent at that time. Over the years, we have had him come by to keep an eye on our troublesome flat roof segments. He had ample opportunity to recommend an early (premature) fix, however, held off until the timing was completely appropriate (a big plus). They were great in recommending a solution to troublesome inset gutters and very quick and tidy in their work. We'd use them again in a second, but we're all out of roofs to be done ! They were simply excellent.

5 men showed up with Jake Stout and worked from 8:30AM to 7:30PM for several days. Jake's foreman was in charge of the crew and most of the communicating went through him. They all appeared experienced and knew what they were doing. Tarps were laid out around the house to catch debris. They were careful not to crush my plants. I marveled at the ease at which they carried heavy plywood sheets up the ladders. Bundles of shingles were placed on the roof by conveyer belt once the plywood was nailed in place. They added additional venting as necessary. The job turned out terrific. Jake is now bidding on a different job for me and if his bid is competitive, he will probably get the job.

I'm very happy with the job. Stout's bid came in at 1/2 the price of one of the big name local competitors and all of the things the competitor warned me might go wrong with one of the less expensive roofers failed to come true (major hidden costs, reused flashings and exhausts, exposed wood in rain during job, etc). Jake has also done 14+ jobs in our neighborhood over the past few years including my neighbor and I know of no issues and his reputation is good. Before the job during the quote process Jake came out to meet with my wife and I three seprate times while we finalized details, and was always prompt to respond to e-mail and my phone call before and during the job. His crew was also very professional and respectful. There were only very minor issues (as to be expected) that Jake addressed immediately. Also, my lamp post was broken when one of the shingle packs fell off the conveyor to the roof by the materials supplier. Jake's crew alerted me to the situation as soon as it happened and Jake followed up with a phone call shortly thereafter to let me know he's take care of getting it replaced. I was very impressed at his responsiveness to the issue. In a nutshell, I'm very happy with the job Stout did and they saved me a ton of money!! Before committing to Stout the other roofer had me worried I might be making a mistake because they were so much more expensive and perhaps I was being penny wise and pound foolish. However, Jake's attention to detail during the bid process (something the other roofer claimed the cheaper roofers would make bad guesses at), quickness to follow-up with us (the more expensive roofer kept us waiting days for responses), willingness to address economic realities (the more expensive roofer was oblivious), and strong desire to get job as apparent in his demeanor and responsiveness won us over.

I was very happy with the work Stout Roofing did. I talked at length with the owner, Jake Stout, about what he was going to do and what materials would be used. Jake was very responsive to my questions and I felt good knowing exactly what was supposed to be done. The work went quickly and the area around the house was kept acceptably clean of debris. Cleanup was done after the job and I found very few things to pick up. Jake came back to fix up some minor issues like bent gutters and a broken piece of trim and also painted some trim that needed it.

Roof is now 10 years old and has held up beautifully. After the big windstorm several years ago I called them to check for damage and they came right out.

The person from Stout roofing came out on a weekend and was there much earlier than he said he would. He was very courteous, punctual and helpful.

Excellent!! Used drop clothes to catch debris, cleaned up nails and scrap. Contractor brought in large dumpster and provided all the materials. Job took a week with 5 men. All were hard workers and very polite. Mexican crew. A few spoke English. I Paid 1/2 up front, mostly for materials, the balance was paid upon satisfactory completion of the job. No leaks (9 months) and the house looks terrific.

Excellent experience. Work was completed on time without any issues. The company representative Jake Stout was courteous and polite and returned phone calls promptly. They also came back a couple of months later to check on the roof when we suspected a problem but there really was none.
