Per her suggestion, I used some paper towels and Clean Shell spray (Home Depot) and it really was just surface mold. She saved me a lot of time, money and grief! Thank you.
There was an initial communication snafu because after they came out to review the damage, they said they would email me a quote within 24 hours. A week later I still hadn't heard back and when I got in touch with them they apologized profusely because they thought they had sent it to me but had not.
Besides that trouble, their services were excellent. They were able to schedule a time to come in and do the work within a week. They estimated it at 3 days but it only took 2. Their crew was very professional both days. The first day was the actual removal of the damaged material. They isolated the area with plastic sheeting, removed the damaged sections and put in replacement drywall within a day. They cleaned up perfectly and told me the painter would be in the next day to finish up.
The next day their paint person showed up on time - he finished preparing the drywall and then painted all the sections using the original color paint I gave him. It took longer than he estimated because he was having problems getting the mudding and then the paint to dry properly, but he refused to leave until he got it right, which I appreciated.
I was very satisfied with the job performed.
"We are sadden by the F rating that [member name removed] has given us on Angie’s List. [member name removed] had a water loss on 8/22/12 and then called us again for additional water loss on 12/1/12. We know she was upset with her insurance company. [member name removed] had different expectations for the project than what the insurance company covers under pre loss conditions. [member name removed] added many upgrades to the put back of her home during the time we worked with her. Her kitchen is absolutely beautiful and looks nothing like her pre loss conditions that she had. We are sorry that we could not get a better grade from [member name removed], but feel the length of time the job took and the difficulty we had, we did our best. We wish [member name removed] the best in the future and hope to regain business from her in the future in order to get that ‘A’ grade we are looking for."
When the full report arrived, I was given a cell phone number for any follow up questions and they worked with my budget and schedule to find a solution to my needs.
Overall a great experience and a fantastic service. Highly recommended.
It appeared that there was a slight uneveness around the fireplace hearth and the new floor. At first, the Enviroshield people sent me before and after pictures that it looked the same. However, when I pursued the issue, they did come and observe there was an unevenness. The owner stated that he would talk to the flooring people about putting an edge around it. But the flooring people never called me. When I followed up with Enviroshield, I was told that I would have to pay the flooring company myself for the edge. I felt that I was going around in circles. There is a very hard working staff at Enviroshield that will come in and do their containment and mold and mildew evaluation which is efficient and respectful to the homeowner. I wish I could say the same about their management. Perhaps some customer service training would be helpful.
"In response, on an insurance claim we are regulated by what we can and can't do as far as the insurance claim is concerned. Insurance will pay for everything that was damaged to go back to pre loss conditions. There was a question on the fireplace harth that she was asking about. The harth is raised up about 1/2" to 3/4" higher then the flooring that we put down. She asked if we could fix that part for her and so we did some reserch to see if there was trim on it prior to the loss that we could ask the insurance company to pay for and we always take pre loss pictures so we can make sure the customers are taken care of in case something like this happens. Upon our research we found that there was no trim on the orginal floor and that it was sticking up about a 1/2" to 3/4" just like the new floor is. I met her at her home and showed her the picuteres that we had taken of the fire place harth and I said instead of running this through our company to save you money why dont you work directly with the hardwood floor company and they can put some trim around the harth for you. She said thank you and then showed me some marks on her wall that were made by the flooring company and I said we would take care of those marks by the end of the week which we scheduled it for the next day and Christan took care of it who is the supervisor on the job. When I left that day she said that she loved the work that we did but could have been better on the communication with the hardwood floor guy and I agreed with her."
