Unfortunately, we had an extremely poor experience with Pella. We were remodeling our kitchen and wanted to replace our kitchen window. Our GC had the tile crew lined up for the backsplash but the window had to be installed first. Pella arrived in the morning, tile guys arrived in the afternoon. The Pella installers ran into a "snag" with our window sill so instead of calling the office for assistance or simply chatting with our GC about what was actually a very simple fix, they simply left the job...walked away with a half installed window and didn't tell anyone they were leaving, not even the Pella office. I called my rep, Zina repeatedly, texted, emailed trying to figure out what in the world was going on? Not hearing back from her, we waded through the phone prompts and different Pella folks before getting through to the manager. We negotiated our crew finishing Pella's work and they would reimburse our credit card for my GC's fees. Did I mention we were on vacation when this was happening?! Omg. Zina, finally texted me back and says she's boarding a plane, can't get in touch with anyone in the office (although we had managed to at that point) and would get back to us in FOUR days. What's so incredibly lame about this is the she was boarding a plane, she saw all of frantic messages and never once called to follow-up when she landed or got back into the office. Once she got the signed contract and funds, she was M.I.A. Ultimately, our GC fixed the Pella work so our tile could be installed but Pella didn't return to finish the exterior of the window for another month. Poor service, poor quality installers and poor follow through. We ended up replacing a set of French doors through our GC and it cost half the price and was done in an afternoon. A much better experience going through a small, local company and needless to say, we will never, ever use Pella again.

Went well, very professional and nice to work with.   We have recommended them to friends already.  The only problem encountered was that they seemed a little rushed at the end of the job, maybe they had another job to start the next day.  Still managed quality work, though.

Pella is all over the country and a local rep came to my house. I also had gotten other new windows at least twice within the last couple of years. I am kind of doing them a little bit at a time. I like their windows and I like their service. The price of the windows was bundled into some home remodeling I did.

We worked with Gary Hardy and his Portland, Oregon team.  Friendly but loose with the details on work order.  His subcontractor minimized lead concern in bathroom.   Got bathroom window wrong twice.  This required two follow-up appointments.  Workers not eager to paint chips they made during installation or removing those hard to get stickers.  Had to ask three three times for paint so that we could paint chips ourselves.  In the end we were pleased with windows but would not hire again.

They did a great job.  They did it on time.  They did it for the cost that they said they would.  They showed up promptly.  They cleaned up.  They were great.  I was pleased with their work.  I would refer them to a friend or a family member.

My experience with them went very well.  They discovered some faults in parts of the door that they were going to put in.  They fixed those things and installed the door.  So they went above and beyond just the installation.

We are very satisfied with their service. They are pretty good and consistent, and do their work in a timely manner. They contract out the installation and door framing as well as the windows installation. The people they contracted out to weren?t the best when it came to finished work, though.

Biggest challenge was how to replace the large picture window. The sales rep, TJ, spent a lot of time going over options with us. Once we decided, they made an appointment to take detailed measurements and go over finishing options for the frames around exterior of the windows and patio doors as well as the interior of the doors and picture window. Job was scheduled for 5 days. The two-man sub-contractor crew arrived on time just after 8 AM January 5, did a walk through and started removing old windows. They asked how late they could work. We told them they could work as long as they wanted. Vitaly and Sergei worked carefully to avoid damage to areas around the windows. They covered interior areas around the work with mats as well paths to and from doors. They removed their shoes on entry to avoid tracking anything inside. They used pads to cover openings when they were not actively working on them, so the house stayed fairly warm despite the outside temperatures. By 7:45 PM, 6 of ten windows has been installed, including exterior trim, seams caulked and the windows and areas around them wiped down. They removed mats, vaccumed interior spaces and left at 8 PM. Jan. 6 - started at 9 after picking up the rest of the windows and doors. Installed the downstairs patio door, and two windows including the picture window/casements. Because the picture window/casements were one unit, they brought on 4 other crew to help. A measurement error made the molulding around thne window too narrow. Jan 7 - arrived about 8 AM, installed the last two windows, second patio door. Sergei cut the too-narrow moulding from around the picture window, installed the correct size, caulked and painted it. I could not tell the difference from the factory original. They placed moulding around picture window and doors, began washing windows. Left at 7:30 PM. Jan 8- arrived about 8 AM, finished installing trim, caulked all windows and moulding, filled nail holes and painted/touched up where needed. Vitaly noted three problems - one screen was too large and needed to be replaced, the tab on one screen used to pull them in place had broken and the latches for the casement windows had not been properly secured. They cleaned up inside and out. A coule pf weeks later, the replacement screens arrived and the casement window latches were fixed. The person doing the work did not have caulk and touch-up paint so it required one more visit. Only downside to the whole experience - minor inconvenience to me:I had to call them to confrim that the install would proceed as scheduled subsequetly to find out when the screens and casement latches would be taken care of. We were originally concerned about what the picture window would look like, but it really adds a lot to the house. We are very happy with the finished work.

Our home was built in 1909 and the the original windows were in very bad shape. It was very important to maintain as closely as possible the character of the home. The Pella architect series fit the bill for us nicely. The guys did a great job, they arrived on time and completed the job on time as well. They just finished yesterday, but no problems as of yet and we did a thorough walk around. They were very professional and at this point we couldn't be happier with the work they did. They were very careful and the place was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. We got several estimates, do yourself a favor and if your're considering window replacment and want a Pella estimate, go through Costco. We saved approximately $7000 by using them.

When a couple of construction challenges occurred during the installation, the Pella team consulted with us and then came up with solutions. We found the Pella team, both sales and installation, to be very professional, courteous and punctual. We have selected Pella to replace the remaining windows in our house, a project that is currently underway. We highly recommend Pella to anyone who desires high quality windows and doors, and professional service. They are true crasftmen at what they do.

They were great overall. What I liked about them is that, if I do not know who to do something with one of the windows, I just call them and they either come over or just let me know aver the phone. The follow ups are also very good and very responsive. They have a great product and provide great service.

1) Delivery: All Windows were delivered on schedule and all windows were exactly as ordered and required. 2) Sizing. We put together a spreadsheet with rough window sizes, grid requirements, type requirements (double hung, casement, etc) etc. Our contractor used this to get pricing from Dennis at Pella. Dennis came out while our contractor did the actual final sizing. We received a PDF with the final order and verified every detail, including the measurements. 3) Appearance. We looked at windows from the top rated companies on Angies list, and the Pella were standouts. We hadn?t initially looked at Pella because at the time Angies list didn?t have a good review, but we are very glad we did. They were also very well rated by Consumer Reports. Much nicer than the vinyl we saw. Pella Wood Clad are wood windows with metal on the outside. Other windows we saw were fiberglass with wood vaneer. 4) Cost. Primer, paint, custom hardware, grids, and screens can easily add up to cost of the window. A 33 wide by 53 tall Architect Series, Double Hung, traditional grids in top half, no screen, no paint, standard hardware, standard size, standard exterior color Pella window cost $515. Fiberglass from other vendors were comparable in price. Another top rated brand by consumer reports had very nice wood windows, but the quote was about 50% more. 5) Standard Versus Custom Size. Pella charged about $60 for each non standard sized window. Dennis helped us figure out where we could use standard sizes. 6) Choosing Between Pella Architectural Series vs Pella Pro Line. Both are wood clad with metal. The Pro Line doesn?t come in custom sizes, and therefore didn?t? work for us. 7) Choosing between Double Wide or Post: Pella joined two double hung together for many of our openings and looks great. We had considered installing a post in many of the openings and then installing two separate windows. 8) Interior Painting. 4 options: (a) Factory primed; (b) Factory Painted standard Pella color; (c) Custom Pella Paint Shop in Bellevue; (d) Unfinished. Generally, painting is expensive. We were quoted $300 per window to paint the inside by an experienced painter. Had $100 per window bid from another reputable painter, but backed out once summer hit and found more profitable jobs. The Pella Bellevue Paint shop is impressive but recall it was expensive and still have to deal with the trim. We ended up prepping the windows ourselves and hiring experienced painters hourly to spray. The double hung are easy to take out and then spray, but very tedious to mask. 9) Jam Extensions: Our walls all vary in thickness because of layers of plaster and drywall. So standard factory installed Jam extensions weren?t possible. 10) Hardware: Standard brown Pella hardware matches the old rubbed bronze we have elsewhere. 11) Exterior Colors: Used standard ?Pella White? for windows and all exterior trim. Sherman Williams has the formula.

Our house has old asbestos siding but sales rep said that window trim would fit over it with no cuts, etc necessary. Lead time from order was about 12 weeks - ordered in Sept, installed in Nov. When windows arrived, middle part of 3-part window had a large crack through it. Was installed anyway with promise to have replacement made and installed in 3 weeks. During install, crew needed to cut away some siding to complete which they refused to do due to the asbestos. They asked us to hire another contractor to complete work and left installation incomplete and large tarp across front of house for 4 days. After trying to find another contractor, Pella finally agreed to finish but chipped away the siding instead of cutting and then filled in extremely uneven trims with huge amounts of caulk - lots awful and unprofessional. As of end of Feb (3 months after initial install) cracked window has still not been replaced. They "forgot" about us twice and brought the wrong size window once.

Install was a disaster, starting by them showing up two hours late the first day. The door product itself is beautiful, but the surrounding wood frame is cheap wood and they sprayed holes or staples in no particular order. Had to repaint the entire entry way to have the primed wood match the entry way walls. Caulking was a disaster and we have a compliant out to fix the outside door frames as large staples were lathered in caulking at eye level and paint cannot cover the sheen from the staples. Left scratches on banister, walls, floor and ceiling. French Doors were not installed properly and had to have service come out and sand down so they would lock. Do not like how they lock. Have had three separate service teams out since install. Job not finished to our satisfaction and awaiting new window pane as there was a scratch on it and and sidelight, as scratch also very evident. Would recommend reputable independent contractor do install.

I LIKE THE LOOK OF THE NEW WINDOWS. HOWEVER, SEVERAL WERE MISSING THE HARDWARE AND HARD TO OPEN. I DO NOT CARE FOR THE LOCKING DEVICE ON THE FRENCH DOORS.
