Kent Thompson is an amazing electrician! We will definitely be having him back in the future when we have more wiring jobs. Kent is really down to earth and what I would consider an "old school" electrician. He doesn't have a team of dozens of people or a big web site, but he does know his stuff about all things electrical. Unlike the big outfits, he doesn't charge a fixed price based on a pricing book - he writes out a detailed estimate for time and labor, and recommends changes that can be made to save time and money. He doesn't carry an iPad around or respond to text messages, but he shows up on time and gets the job done, and doesn't ask for a deposit to start the job. His prices are definitely more reasonable than the other two companies I talked to. I've always done electrical jobs myself, but we wanted to add a new circuit for a car charger, and I wasn't comfortable getting into the breaker box for that kind of thing, nor have I done any work that would have required permitting or inspection. I called Kent and he worked with me to find a time for the initial estimate - he came out after I got home from work one evening, which was great for my schedule. One of the main reasons I went with him is he spent a lot of time during the estimate discussing options with me and doing a thorough inspection of our current wiring, and just establishing a good rapport. It took about a week before I got the estimate, but he warned me of that ahead of time since he was working on a big job out of town the following week. Once I got the estimate and reviewed it, the work was scheduled very quickly - within a week. The morning of the job, he showed up very early, as requested - 7 AM. It took a bit longer than he originally expected, but he still honored his original estimate. The inspection went very smoothly and the work looks great! He did call me once or twice to clarify something, so great communication all around. I can't recommend Kent at Northwest Sound Electric highly enough - he's your guy if you want high-quality electrical work done at reasonable prices. He's also very good at explaining things, whether you're familiar with electrical work or not - I really enjoyed talking with him and hearing how he was going to do the work.

Kent was fabulous! We have an older home & needed to add a dedicated 220 volt circuit for the charger. Several companies told us we would need to upgrade/replace our electrical panel. Kent looked at our service & found a safe (code compliant) way to re-organize our panel & add the needed 220 circuit. A panel replacement would have exceeded $10,000. He also advised us on areas of concern throughout the house & helped us plan for future work. Kent is knowledgable, easy to work with & his bid matched his final bill. We have definitely found our electrician!

Kent was fantastic. He helped determine my real capacity to add a new 60amp circuit, did a quality install, communicated well, dealt with the inspector. Price was totally reasonable for what Kent did for me. Would hire again for sure. Thanks

Northwest Sound Electric has been out to my home two times now. First was a garage remodel and second the installation of a Level 2 E.V. charger. Both times; promptly returns phone calls and emails, arrived on time, very easy to work with, fair rates, knowledgeable, and suggested cost effective changes/additions to the scope of work. Kent let me know up front scheduling would be out about four weeks. I was ok with that. He got to me in three weeks. He arrived on time with all necessary equipment. He was friendly and cordial throughout. Some problems were very minor, and he let me know instead of charging for unnecessary work. He discovered a dead transformer in a hard-to-reach part of the ceiling, and painstakingly and professionally fixed the problem. He kept me informed throughout the visit and proved to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely hire Kent again.

Kent is a supreme professional. After 30 plus years in the business, with a great work ethic and knowledge, there is no one better! He completed all work on schedule, worked with the city during the inspections and made sure I was informed about all work done.

I called Kent to schedule and it took a day or two for him to call back, but I really appreciated that he was honest about his availability. He told me it would be 6-8 weeks before he could do the job. I went ahead and scheduled with him because I appreciated his honesty and he has good reviews. He also told us what we would need to hook up our generator and he told us where to buy it, instead of having him buy it and pay a mark up fee. He showed up on time and he installed the whole house transfer switch in a few hours. He walked us through how to use it, how much electricity our generator could handle, and he tested the switches in our breaker box to see how much we could use at once with our generator. He was really nice and helpful along the way.

I would use them again. Experienced person is what they are doing.

All work was accomplished as proposed which met our needs. Kent was personable, easy to talk to and quickly understood our desires. He asked questions which helped with the job's details and seemed very knowledgeable about codes and quality work. He was prompt on the job and cleaned up any mess made. He came back and helped me test the generator operation and confirmed the line loads were well balanced. It went great. He is very thorough and is very much about making sure that the work is done to codes. In the end, I appreciate this concern for safety but it did up the final cost due to having to upgrade several circuits and the time it took to do that. He is a personable guy and worked well with me. (I am pretty fussy and change my mind about things during the project). I have already recommended him to friends and would hire again.

There is nothing bad to say about Kent, he knows what he is doing, he is honest and hardworking.
He did some work for us at our home about 8 years ago and he was confident in knowing our electrical panel and got that work done in 1 day.
When planning for our kitchen remodel we knew we wanted him back (we are not technically in his service area but since we were prior customers, he was happy to come out) he came out to give us a quote and emailed me the bid within a few days and we then planned a date for him to start.
We had a lot of work for him (it was just him) and he was out multiple times and he worked with our schedules which was very kind of him. He worked with me to make sure I was happy about the placement of the new lights and respected my input.
He was more then happy to explain things to me and even showed me how to install my LED trim into the new fixtures. He was easy to work with and more than happy to help us as we added more items to be done!
We are thrilled with all our new additions and just knowing things are safe and done right!

Experience was excellent. Plastic was laid down to protect all traffic and work areas. Kent did a great job installing the fans, including going into the attic to make sure all the venting was properly insulated. The fans were smaller than the 30 year old ones being removed, so he installed a good wood base for the drywall person to come and patch in the exposed ceiling. I would highly recommend him for any electrical work.

Kent is great to work with. We have used his services twice and both times could not have been happier with his work. He's on time, is willing to work with you for the best solution, he explains his methods, and his work is flawless. He even cleaned up some of the existing wiring that could lead to issues in the future. Ours was not a simple installation and we were able to discuss how to best accomplish what we needed. I very much recommend him for any large or small electrical work you need done.

We had Kent of northwest sound electric out for the 3rd time. He installed a outlet in our garage & replaced a bathroom fan, we have been happy with his work. He always shows up on time & prices are very fair. We will use him again.

The contractor asked several questions about the electrical demands for the house and made a site visit to understand the scope of the project.  A few days later he contacted us with a quote, materials list, and a time frame for performing the work.  The quote explained clearly what would be done, item by item.  He showed up punctually each day, and got everything done on the quote list.  Inspection with the city went smooth.  The work was perfectly neat and he made several check-ins during the project to make sure details were the way we wanted.  I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of this project.  I would trust this company with any electrical work at my property.

We were very favorably impressed with this firm. Not only was Kent punctual and friendly, he was also reasonable about prices. We've used this company before and the work has been consistently excellent. We really appreciate that this company recommends innovative solutions to lighting and other electrical problems. For example, we recently needed more outdoor lighting for our backyard for security; Northwest Sound Electric recommended a very good solution that saved us some money as well. We will continue to call this firm, whether it is for a major electrical project or just fixing a minor problem.

I used Northwest Sound Electric this weekend and I it was an excellent experience.  Kent was exactly what we were hoping for since this was the first time we used Angle's List.  He was on time, on budget, and went beyond my expectations with his personal and experienced service.  He made some great recommendations that made the job go off even better than hoped.  The kind of deep experience he has is hard to find and very appreciated. He is also very respectful to your home which was important to us. Overall just a great experience and cannot recommend Kent and Northwest Sound Electric enough.
