Josh Steele Construction

We used Josh for a master bathroom remodel in 2017. We were quoted roughly $40, but ended up paying over $100,000. Nine months after the project was completed we discovered the master bath shower had been leaking the entire time. Josh took no responsibility for the leak. When we finally found a contractor that would fix the problem, we discovered multiple building code violations, including an exposed 220-V floor radiant heating wire in the shower drain, which could have potentially killed someone. The new contractor discovered no permits had been taken out for the entire project, so I was fined for that. The entire bathroom had to be ripped out to the studs and done again, this time to code. Insurance covered the repairs, but not the $35,000 in building code violations. We will never hire this person for anything again.

I love Angie's List and for that reason when Discount Tile in Bellevue referred me to Josh and he had no reviews on Angie's list I was hesitant. However, after talking to several of his previous customers I realized that Josh was one of those best kept secrets. And because he is largely a secret, along with the fact that he has little to no overhead, I was getting a great deal of top quality work. I got several bids, at the end of the day Josh was the lowest and what I anticipated would be the best quality. He was very easy to work with and was very punctual. He was also very flexible, which was essential due to a few changes that took place as the job progressed. The first of which was, after we tore out the old shock shower we discovered that there was an additional triangle of space that was unused. Josh came up with a plan to take advantage of the space by building a recessed shower bench, making the shower feel a lot bigger. The other adjustment were color and tile choices that Josh helped coach me on. This was my first time picking tile and Josh helped me avoid some tile that would have been a disaster to pick a tile that we love and is very durable. He also helped pick out some accent tile for our niche and bench. From there he worked quickly to lay the tile and take our shower from a fiberglass cube to a spa-esque haven that we love, including a niche that we love and a marble stone floor that accents nicely. With any luck I will be able to attach some pictures to this review. I hope this review helps, good luck getting on his calendar. The word is getting out and I was lucky to get on his schedule. Andrew
