Joe Peterson

Joe bid to replace gutters and pointed out places where dormers added 25 years ago had been damaged and it would be good to have gutters. He recommended leaving the downspouts in place except for replacement of an elbow on one. He noted that while it would be good to have flashing under edge of the roof, it would not be sensible to do that if a new roof was under consideration, which it is. He recommended a roofer, Haider Construction for whom he said he worked on occasion and which is recommended by a number of people. (I have subsequently received a good bid from that company). He quoted $1200 for the job. His crew was detained working at another location so were several hours late. When the gutters were down it was discovered that there were places where the fascia had rotted and we decided to replace all of them. That added $800 to the job, and necessitated his crew's return for the morning of a second day. They were punctual. His crew worked efficiently and did a good job. I was concerned about one spot and Joe personally returned and made an adjustment to deal with the issue. I live in San Francisco, am in and out of Seattle and made the decision not to get additional bids. I thought the estimate was reasonable but am not sure about the additional charge for the fascia and added labor as I have nothing with which to compare. I hired him because he seemed to know his business and was only recommending the necessary repairs, rather than a complete system replacement. While I initially contacted him through the web site for Northwest Custom Gutters, he now has his own company, Northwest Rain Gutter Systems.

Someone else referred him to me and I was really happy with him.
