Hoffman's Landscape, Inc.

We used Hoffman's Landscape to replace a cedar fence along one side of our property, and to replace some rotten boards in the fence on another side. The entire experience was terrific. Ron was quick to get out to do an estimate, and the work was quickly performed as soon as the materials were in stock. The installers were polite, friendly, and respectful. They cleaned up after themselves well. They even installed a temporary fence to keep our dog in the yard while the fence posts were setting! The final product is wonderful. The fence is well constructed and looks terrific. I would use Hoffman's Landscape for future fencing projects, and would (and have) recommend them to others.

Overall I am happy with the final appearance of our fence and outcome of the project. It looks nice and matches the existing fence on the other side of our house. Pros: The fence looks how I expect a cedar fence to look. Cons: Ron (owner/sales) was very professional, but some of the crew working for him needed a bit of training on interacting with customers. Other members of the crew were great and very professional, so it was just hit or miss depending on who was there on a given day. We had several items that needed to be adjusted or fixed. They were all taken care of after the initial build, so I have no lingering complaints; I just feel that some of the initial decisions didn't make sense, and they just made me question the choices/aesthetics of the crew working: would you have done that on your own property? Some are fairly simple such as just adjusting a top cap so that it was square with the fence, or the type & color of the string that was used to pull the gate lever. I really wanted a very clear description of the fence before work started to make sure I knew exactly what I was going to get, and never received that. I'm sure that is fine for many people, but I would still be concerned about making sure that there are specific dimensions listed in a work order. Again, the end product was fine, but it made me very uneasy if I ended up feeling like the fence was located incorrectly or wasn't the design that I was expecting, as there was not clear definition provided in the work order/contract. The price was also much higher than I was expecting/hoping (though it was agreed to prior to work starting). This is likely just due to the crazy surge in pricing for all remodeling work in the area right now, as well as the increase in price for materials. But for that price I would have expected a premium level of professionalism and communication throughout the project.

We have used Hoffman's Landscaping for 3 projects over the past few years. Two of the projects involved significant work including building a curved retaining wall, two patios and rebuilding a deck using Trex composite. All of the craftsmanship has been excellent down to the fine details. We have only had one issue (debris in mulch that was spread around the house), and they were out the next day to fix the problem (pulled up all of the mulch and replaced with new). I would highly recommend Ron and his team for both the quality of their work and standing behind their work.

Hoffman’s Landscape has been great to work with and is our families recommended landscaping company. We were looking for a landscape company to help build a fence, bring in lots of bark, and do some cleanup. After reading several reviews we decided to give Hoffman’s Landscape a try. Hoffman’s Landscape stood out in several ways. Scheduling was simple, I was able to get someone on the phone and they returned phone calls and emails promptly. They arrive on time for appointments. They are very clear with their bids on the scope of work and a breakdown on costs. The quality of the work was great. In our situation we needed to delay finishing our fence due to other work around the house. Ron was easy to work with and helped schedule around our other work. They accept credit card payments and invoice for all payments. Overall it has been great to work with Ron and Hoffman’s Landscape. I look forward to continuing to use them for our family’s landscaping.

Ron and his crew were a pleasure to work with--from design to installation. We are very happy with the new landscaped area that replaces a patch of blackberries. The addition of color in fall is wonderful and we can't wait to see everything blooming in spring!

Ron Hoffman and his crew were amazing. Our backyard was completely overgrown and pretty much unusable. We also had 2 decks that needed replacing. Ron came in and had a great eye for design and what would work within our budget. They did a complete backyard makeover, added a new fence and 2 beautiful composite decks. His crew, led by Jose were amazing the whole time . Very professional and always left the jobsite clean. We asked for a couple of changes part way in and Ron was very accommodating. Ron and his crew exceeded my expectations and will certainly hire again for any landscape, fencing, deck projects.

i called a few places for quotes to compare prices. I chose Hoffman because Ron was responsive over the phone to schedule for free estimate as well as to confirm the appointment time. Ron took the time to come out and discuss with me about the bid on Saturday morning. Crew of 3 and Rob arrived on time and cleaned up everything within few hours. Ron followed up the next day and accepted credit card payment over the phone. I would recommend them to all my friends.

We are extremely pleased with Hoffman’s Landscape, Inc. of Woodinville, Washington for the design and installation of a retaining wall and restoration of our front yard and side yard. Our 43 year old yard was in poor condition and an eyesore. The steep slope next to the front sidewalk was impossible to keep green without exorbitant watering. Most of the lawn was a quilt of spotty grass patches. A makeover was needed. Ron patiently worked with us on the design of a retaining wall to eliminate the steep slope in the front yard and had many great suggestions on plantings and layout. His design for the wall met engineering standards for drainage and construction to ensure the structure would have a long life. His in-depth knowledge of landscape design, retaining wall materials and plant species resulted in a landscape that greatly enhanced the appearance of our property. His mason was highly experienced and skilled in building the retaining wall, and the rest of his crew did an outstanding job of removing the old lawn, placing six inches of topsoil, contouring the slopes, placing sod, and planting plants and a 7-foot coral Japanese maple tree. Ron’s crew also constructed a stepping stone pathway under the fence gate to our backyard to get rid of a muddy area and extended a drainage pipe of a downspout out to the street. We appreciate the attention to detail and completion of the project in a very timely and professional manner over a seven day period. Many of our neighbors have commented about the appearance of our new yard and how well the color of the wall and plants around the wall complement each other. Ron and his team exceeded our expectations.

We have worked with Ron for the past 2 years. We began with twice annual yard clean up for our large lot. Work was thorough, and team has been responsive to any requests for follow up on a job. We are now using twice monthly maintenance and are very pleased. We have also had Ron's team rebuild our deck using composite decking. Careful attention was made to every detail of the process. We are very pleased with the results. Prices are reasonable and work is thorough - I would not hesitate to recommend.

Went very well. They kept to the agreed schedule, did a nice job with the fence, and cleaned up afterwards. They offered the best price of four companies - less than half the highest bid. The cost was shared with my neighbors, and they were very pleased with the result.

We are SO happy with the jobs Ron and his team performed! We will continue to use his maintenance service for both the front and back yard as well, and we have additional projects we are interested in doing in the future. What they did with our front yard is amazing. They removed all the grass and the pathetic bushes and plants that were there, added some contouring to the yard, a dry creek bed, and planted a beautiful array of flowers, bushes and trees. We didn't really have an idea of what we wanted to do with the front yard, we just knew we wanted to remove the grass. Ron came up with a design, and reviewed it with us and it was perfect. Ron got some info from me on what types of plants I like, and then came up with a beautiful assortment of plants that would be beautiful and would do well with the sun exposure the yard gets. He asked for feedback and reviewed his plan with me many times to make sure i was satisfied, and then they executed beautifully on the plan. For the other project, due to some construction on the base of the house that was done by another company we had some stairs removed from the back patio, which left a big hole in the patio and no stairs to the house. Ron found pavers that matched our patio perfectly, and fixed it all up so it looks awesome. And then he got new stairs built that are perfect, very well made and they look really good. I didn't know what we were going to do because it was not an ideal situation to remove the existing stairs and have a big gap in the patio. Ron came up with a solution that looks better than what we had before, and you can't even tell that things were constructed at different times. It was so cool that he was able to solve that problem for us and come up with such a great solution. Everyone that did the work was professional and precise, and tidy. Schedules were well communicated, work was done on time, and in budget. Ron kept in constant contact with updates and information on the plan, and he was very pleasant to work with!

We are very impressed with the level of professionalism and quality work. We had lower bids however Hoffman's offered an earlier start date and we were in a time crunch. They also offered the Angie's List discount. I am so happy we decided to work with them, they were worth every penny. Excellent communication all along the way. It was nice to work with kind, professional, friendly people like the Hoffman family. I highly recommend them.

We contracted with Hoffman Landscaping in 2015 for a $900 lawn renovation. It did not turn out as we desired, mostly due to a lack of communication between Ron Hoffman and us. We called him this spring and he came out and agreed to redo it for a very fair price. We liked his work, his workers and their attitudes so also had him do a fence repair and plant two large trees for us. He was always responsive and conscientious about his company's work.

Ron Hoffman was very easy to work with because he took the time to discuss what he was doing with both me and my husband, so make sure we got what we wanted. Throughout the process he asked questions and gave suggestions that improved the outcome. He had attention to detail and a very definite emphasis on doing quality work. Due to his time constraints, there were days, or even weeks, where he was unable to even work on the project. But this was not a concern for me, because my goal was having a well-constructed arbor that would last in the future. This is what we achieved. I believe he enjoyed creating a beautiful addition to the yard as much as me and my husband did.

I just moved into my house, and the front and backyard were in a bad shape and hadn't been taken care of for months. I had a large event planned and they were able to fit into their schedule on short notice and complete the work.

Ron came out and gave me a quote to get a patio for my yard. I had the basic idea of what I wanted and Ron threw an idea out that sounded good. I told him to run with it and gave the deposit.
When the time came to start it seemed like the things we had originally talked about were forgotten. like the shape of the patio. I was a little nervous that the guy doing the work had not talked to Ron or no simple drawing was provided. Prior to leaving for work one morning I went out and painted the general shape for them after speaking with Ron.
I found communication very inconsistent. The one thing I like and expect is daily (or every other day) communication. Even when no work is done I wanted a call. That didn't happen as I liked. The worker would show up at random times to do the work. This tells me one thing. There was another job that took priority over mine.
The quality is great. I have no complaints there.

It went very well.  The work was performed as requested with the result being excellent.  Everyone who has seen the path thinks it looks very nice.  Considering Mr. Hoffman's busy schedule, his response times to questions was good.  The quality of the responses were very good (voice mails, emails).  Due to the location of the path, we requested the flagstone path be as permeable as possible which they successfully achieved.

The project ended up looking great.  We went from a dirt pit in the back where we'd removed the old deck to having a great outdoor space.  They built paver stairs down to the new patio and tied it into our existing retaining wall.  We had plans from a landscape architect that weren't the best and they were great at figuring out the vision and tying things together to make it look great.  I'm sure we'll enjoy the space for years to come.
