Excel Painting Co

Excel does decent work but the owner will not live up to any warranties. We spent over $80k with Excel and had to terminate our GC who was building our house, so Excel's Owner (George) won't return emails or calls and simply says "we don't have a contract with you". Paid every cent on time, every time so he has not excuses, except for the ones he will make up. Well good luck trying to get warranty work out of George when there is an issue. He will have every excuse not to show up and fix the issues. Not his problem, trade damage, my contract "was" with the GC, etc. etc. etc. Painting is important but it is "painting" and he isn't even doing the work so my suggestion is go with one of the 1,000 other painting companies out there. I'm embarrassed for the WSU Coug nation. We are a close knit group and support one another across the board. I will be certain every COUG I know understands that George and Excel Painting should not have our support. And regardless of your affiliation there are many more reputable companies out there as Excel Painting is NOT one of them.

Excel Painting was a pleasure to work with. George was very responsive and kept me informed as the summer went on to let me know where we were in the long line of people waiting for their turn. It was worth the wait. The crew was easy to have around and did an excellent job on our home.

Excellent job by George and his assistant. George actually made a better suggestion for selecting paint color (a whiter white for the wainscoting) and I like it so much that I'm thinking of doing my hall and dining room now. They were quick (3 days) vs other bids of a week, and cheaper also. Very professional, on time, great job of masking off the room to minimize the fumes in the rest of the house. He was recommended to me by a neighbor/real estate agent and I would definitely use him again. He's just a generally nice guy too- a bonus!

I checked Angie's List and also talked to my daughter who used them last year, along with two of her neighbors. All gave excellent recommendations. I also selected three other painting firms from Angie's List to submit bids. Excel was not the lowest priced, given the superb ratings on Angie's :List and the recommendations from our daughter and neighbors, we decided to go with Excel. The date of July 6th was selected to begin the project. They arrived at the appointed time and exercised due care with our landscaping throughout the project. They did exactly what was agreed to and their attention to detail and quality of workmanship was excellent. The job was completed four days later on July 10th. We would happily use them again when our home needs repainting.

It’s a small company. They were really professional. George Bean is the owner. He came out and watched everything very closely. Once he had gone out for some event and when he came back he asked us how things were going. I wasn’t happy with some of the things that had happened while he was gone and told him about it. He made it all right. It cost him quite a bit because he had to buy all new paint for some of the work. He took care of it and was also very, very apologetic. He wanted to make sure that everything was right. He is also being used by my neighbor. He was prompt and very, very nice. His price was excellent too.

They house is very well tinctured and looks very nice. They were professional, responsive and punctual.

George came over to give us a bid and answered all our questions. While waiting for the weather to be dry enough to paint, he was responsive to my emails discussing details for the job. The Benjamin Moore store told me George is one of only 3 painters it recommends. George is very detail and quality oriented. He has been painting 20 years and does the work himself. He also does interior work. I recommend him without reservation. I think our house has one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen. The price was less than another bid and the other bid was for cheaper paint and the other company did not have nearly as good communication. I learned about George from others in my neighborhood.
