Chris said he'd be out of town, so he'd have some of his guys do the job. We are selling our house so are on time constraints. He said they'd work Sun-Tues. On Monday, one of the workers called to say they couldn't get there until Tuesday. On Wednesday night, I walked into the house and bawled. Paint was everywhere! All the molding and baseboards were covered, paint was glomped all over light fixtures, all over countertops, all over cabinets, on the carpeting, on furniture, etc etc. The ceiling line was horrible. They got paint all over outside- on my deck, in my gravel, on my garden terrace, on my hose, on my hose nozzle, etc. They used supplies from my house instead of their own. They used up all my toilet paper & left pee in the toilet, they smoked and left ashes and cigarettes all over my newly landscaped lawn, etc etc. I called Chris repeatedly to tell him that I needed his best detail person to come in to fix things and clean up. After repeated attempts & messages left with Chris, I had to take matters into my own hands and spend 15-20 hours cleaning up & repainting my house so it didn't look like a fixer-upper. Now comes the great part. Chris finally came home from vacation, did a walk through of the house- I showed him some of the bad areas that were still left & showed him some of my over 100 photos of the mess of the house. I told him that I wouldn't pay any more for the work done. (I'd already paid him for a third of the job up front that covered supplies plus another $150 or so). So, Chris didn't pay his employees (sub-contractors?) for the work & told them to come after me for money. So, I'm getting calls from the contractors saying to pay them or they'll put a lien on my house & I won't be able to sell it. Fun! So, Chris won't take responsibility for these guys & won't pay them anything & he even did a walk through in the house and admitted that the job was done really poorly....that you can't find good help these days, etc. So, Anyway, now I've got threats from these subcontractors & I'm up against a wall & Chris won't do anything. His subcontractor's name is Kelly Ford. Please, before you get subcontractors to paint your house, see if someone is named Kelly Ford. Please don't use him. This must be some sort of scam where he does a bad job & threatens with a lien, as he said he's put liens on homes before. Hire Chris at your own risk, but please be wary of his subcontractors & know that Chris won't go to bat for you if he hires out a bad crew who ruins your house. Oh, and the best part is that I told the subcontractor, Kelly that I had photos of the horrible paint job & he said that I must have put paint on things myself...even though I told him that I had family witnesses who saw the awful paint job, as well.
Description of Work: Hired Chris' company to paint three interior rooms and some hallways. I had originally hired him & a crew of workers to paint the exterior of my house a year prior & the work was to my satisfaction, except for a few issues where they painted some of my deck quickly & I had to some touch up work there myself. However this time, for the interior paint job, another crew worked on my house & did a horrific job which I'll explain later.
