Mark has an excellent eye for design outdoors. I had one idea and he added a lot to it. He adjusted the grade between sidewalks and patio without steps by bringing in more rock. He brought the proper equipment to remove old cement walks without additional rentals. The end product of the patio has design elements he suggested once we told him we would be putting up a grape arbor over the 12 X12 pad, he designed corner cut-outs to plant the grapes in. Everyone who sees it just loves the look. Then when we described the fencing we wanted to install now that the cement was finished, he suggested this cement fencing. We were going to put in white vinyl, which does have some annual maintenance. The cement has NONE. He has forms and pours the components of posts and rails in his shop, then brought them out to install. He dug all the holes by hand to eliminate a lot of mess, and also get the new posts lined up close to existing structures. His eye to spacing and grade is spot on. He spaces the posts so they appear to the eye to be equal, but in fact, they have varying distances to coordinate with corners, gradual turns, openings we wanted for gates, etc. After installation, he lets it set till weather allows the staining and sealing. It's great, and we just hit it with the hose where birds have pooped on it. Everyone who sees it has to go over and touch it to make sure we are telling them the truth it is cement. It looks like a stained 1X10 two rail board fence. Mark Crawford Construction, also built our house in 1998 and our barn in 2000, under another contractor name that has been retired. Mark was partnered with Jim Culbertson at J & M Construction at that time, but the quality is the same. Jim Culbertson was in his 60's at the time and retired, thus renaming of the company. I found Mark because the local redi-mix cement company had a portfolio of his cement work at their shop, and they recommended him. Otherwise I wouldn't have found him. He has a white pages listing under Mark Crawford Construction, but I do not believe he is listed in the yellow pages ads. I only gave him a "good" on responsiveness because he is in much demand. If you don't plan ahead, it is hard to get on his schedule, and there are rain delays for this kind of work.
Description of Work: Poured new cement sidewalks and added new patio with stamped and stained cement. Then 6 months later installed a cement, stained, two rail decorative fence around out house that looks like wood.
