I would not recommend this company. I realize our job was a small job in the scope of landscaping work but at the same time all jobs small or large should be given the same attention to detail.

Delay getting started but once they arrived and got to work everything went smooth. Some communications issues but everything worked out.

It went great. They showed up on time and did a great job. They finished in under two weeks. They came everyday and when they left for the day they made sure they cleaned up as much as they could.

On day 1, the Catchys crew used heavy equipment to remove all of the existing plants and 6" of soil. They also dug down 18" along the neighbor's mow strip in preparation for the barrier installation. Before the crew left, they cleaned up the work site, swept up all the dirt in the street and along the gutter and hosed everything down. Very neat and tidy!? On day 2, the crew returned to install the barrier along the mow strip and again left the work site clean. On day 3, the crew didn't show and I waited until 10 a.m. to call Juan. He apologized and said the boulders set aside for the project were not suitable and they were waiting for replacements. This was the only snag in the project. I felt that Juan should have contacted me to tell me there would be a delay. On day 4, the crew arrived with the fresh soil and the boulders. In concert with my instructions, the crew placed the soil and boulders. Juan also arrived to apologize for the delay in obtaining the boulders. The street and gutter along the work site were swept and hosed down and left in a clean condition.? Everyone on the crew was friendly, polite, hard-working, and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.
UPDATE
After the work was completed, I gave the firm a glowing report on Angie's List. However, when I began to put plants in the newly landscaped area I discovered the soil provided consisted of heavy clay. I was expecting soil that was described in the Terms and Conditions of Proposal (TCP) as: "All plant material installed will be back filled with a native soil/compost mixture, water polymer, and fertilizer." When I re-read the TCP I realized that the soil described was only provided when Cachys Landscaping did the planting. That told me that Cachys knew the type of soil that assures optimum growth for plants.Next I reviewed the actual proposal for my property. It called for "New Topsoil." A definition of top soil is the "fertile, upper layer of soil".The clay I received could in no way be described as "fertile". The irony of the whole situation was I had actually paid money for soil I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!I contacted Cachys to voice my displeasure about the soil provided. I was hoping to have the clay removed and new top soil brought in. That didn't happen, but Cachys did agree to provide two yards of compost and have it integrated into the clay. Not an ideal solution, but better than nothing.New customers should have a clear understanding of the type of soil that will be provided for their landscaping project.

It was almost too good to be true to receive such professional service. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but I did know what areas I wanted improved. I was provided with a detailed estimate of price and how long the project would take. Any changes in the estimate were gladly accommodated including suggestions for meeting our budget. They also reassured completion in time for an outdoor wedding. I was impressed with lead worker who is an expert. (He also did the landscaping around Lourdes hospital.) Definitely an artist. There were usually 4 guys who were never idle, and it took about 5-7 days for the entire job. The site was spotless at the end of each workday. The owner stayed in contact and quickly responded to phone calls when necessary. When they finished the retaining wall, they spread the remaining gravel in the driveway, which needed it. Another extra from this hard-working crew: While curbing the front area, a sewer pipe in the garden area ended up on the outside of the curb about 6 inches into the driveway. This pipe stuck up about 3 inches or so. My husband groaned even though it wasn't a serious issue since we rarely use that area. I didn't think it was their responsibility to replace the pipe, but they dug it up and made it flush with the level of the driveway. Another note, the soil here is part clay with large rocks. Where the little tractor didn't fit, the crew dug it up by hand. Any leftover bricks were neatly stacked for us. The only break they took was lunch. I highly recommend Caches for your landscaping job.

"Yes, we try to do the extra mile for our customers. This is the norm, we gladly accommodate owner request and do the extra things that make a difference (flush sewer pipe)."

They were very responsive to our call and came out within a week. Rafael stayed to get his crew going then left them to do their work. Very professional, courteous, hardworking young men. We have very rocky soil so they had their work cut out for them digging a trench for the new line; which they had to tie into 3 existing sprinkler heads. They got the job done in approx. 4 hours in the sweltering heat.

We are very pleased with the job Cachy's did. The job did take longer than anticipated, but the presence of large tree roots did complicate the process a bit. The patio had to be built up more than expected to cover the roots so the trees wouldn't be damaged. There was also a delay due to some pavers and the firepit having to be delivered from Oregon because the local company was out of stock of those items.
The quality of workmanship was excellent in every way. Rafael is truly an artist when it comes to landscape design. We had envisioned straight walkways but Rafael told us they would look better if curved a bit and he was so right! This is so much more beautiful than I ever envisioned it would be.
They were very willing to make changes and offer ideas when needed and are a pleasure to work with.
We like them so much that they are coming back to do more work for us very soon. I would highly recommend Cachy's to anyone considering any landscape project.

When I first called Juan for a quote, he set an appointment for the next Thursday at 10AM and this was nice after some contractors that call/text when in the area which can be hit and miss. Juan showed up promptly as scheduled, took measurements and a list of my requests and promised to get me a quote in the next day- which he did. The amount, almost 12k, was more than I wanted to spend, but I knew it was a lot of work and I wanted it done right (not like the landscaper that did the front half of our yard for the builder).
I accepted the bid over the weekend and Juan's crew showed up on the following Monday to start work. Overall, it took two weeks for the work to be finished by the time we waited for the concrete curbing guy to do his part and then for the curbing to dry/cure and waiting on sod deliveries. Juan's crew were always very polite and conscientious of their impact, never leaving a mess or getting in our way. I have had work done before by other contractors and it was not out of the ordinary to come home to a total mess- this never happened with Cachys.
Most of the job I spec'd out, but when it came to the shrubs at the front of the house and some other key areas, I told Juan what I wanted and he picked out what was used. I am very happy with the plants he chose and how they were placed.
Overall, I would highly recommend Juan and his crew and fully intend to use them again for future projects.

They did a great job. Juan was very good about listening to what I wanted done. I wanted only a few choices, and he was very good about providing just a couple choices, not hundreds. His crew was on-time and cleaned up when they left each day. They did a very professional job on the patio and it adds a lot to the front on the house. We added some extra work and it wasn't a problem. They removed weeds, trees, shrubs, rock. Installed pavers, weed barrier, and basalt rock.

Took a week to do the work. Arrived early in morning and stayed late. Cleaned up afterwards. Listened to what I wanted including last minute changes and we're flexible. Helps much if you speak Spanish since I was able to communicate with the employees. The Forman speaks English. Great work. Left work space clean.

They used a crew of three or four with an on-site supervisor at all times. They worked hard every time they were here for most of a month long process. They also coordinated with a concrete contractor so the lawn re-leveling was coordinated with the slope of my new driveway. They tested the irrigation installation ultimately installing an unplanned drain pipe near the street to evacuate pooled water at a low spot in the lawn where the grass meets the concrete mowing edging. Every aspect of the design and installation is of the highest quality, is thorough and the work was meticulously executed. As examples, the decorative landscaping block used to border the raised flower beds is perfectly level and blends in beautifully with the natural slope of my lawn. The shrubs, flowers, trees and grasses installed are varied in size but coordinated so as to provide multiple colors, textures and heights. Finally, the landscaping block, coarse and finer aggregate rock used are color coordinated to blend seamlessly with one another adding a completeness and reflecting a thoughtful and thorough design process. I could not be more pleased with the end results of the entire project!
I highly recommend CACHYS LANDSCAPING and would hire them again.

Juan came out promptly and was able to quickly diagnose the problem with the crumbling patio wall. He also showed us other areas where the same problems were occurring. He recommended replacing the rotting railroad ties with concrete retaining blocks and provided us with an estimate. We also asked for some additional work on the sprinkler lines in our backyard and this was also included.
The crew did an excellent job and all issues that came up during the project (broken sprinkler line, patio stairs) were quickly resolved to our complete satisfaction. The crew did a reasonably good job of cleaning up each night during the demolition phase and did a great job of cleaning up after the project was complete.
The job was done correctly, the ground was all leveled out and compacted before the blocks were set and the blocks themselves are back-filled with gravel. The final wall was completed and finished off very nicely. We would definitely have them do work for us again.
