Timotei from Magdici was initially very responsive before the work started. He built the spa equipment shed but did not complete the work. He refused to answer or return calls and never completed the work. We had several quality issues with what was completed and I would never use him again. The ironwork and its installation went really well but that was done by the subcontractor who I subsequently used for many other things.

Initially Timotei was very professional and very responsive. There were delays in his starting the project that were related to another contractor and completely beyond his control. The iron work that was done by Angelo is beautiful and exactly what I was looking for although it did take longer than expected. Timotei built the shed and I needed to call him many times for him to work on the project. The roof as built extended too far over the shed and was too close to the pergola. He didn't want to correct the sizing but did. The shed needed metal flashing and additional support for a green rough that he promised to finish. He said he didn't know where to get the right sized flashing and put on a size that covered less than half of the wood. He asked for more money than the estimate for the shed and the pergola (the pergola had a curved brace that apparantly cost more and the shed ended up being more square footage than initially thought) which I paid. He also wanted more money for correcting the roof but due to the fact I contracted with him for both the shed and pergola I did not pay. I held back a nominal fee (which did not cover my cost for the flashing let alone the installation) for him to correct the flashing and the roof supports but paid the balance of the first half half of the project (the deck railing and stair railings and chimney cover were to be next). I called and e-mailed for 2.5 months and received no reply. I sent a certified CCB Preclaim Notice and it came back "refused".
I went directly to the source to finish the second half of the project and have been very happy.

They have not done anything bad enough to downgrade them. I would consider using them in the future.

They were pretty good. I think they had to be watched a little. I had talked to some other contractors and one openly said that they just dry pack the fence post home and pour water and go. That didn't sound right. He wasn't mixing the cement up and pouring it into the fence hole. I even talked to a structural engineer and he said that didn't jive because he said that the fence wouldn't have any support. This was a long fence that I had rebuilt. His point was that with that kind of work with the first wind that came along, it would have been blown down. So I went with Lasik. When he was done with the fence, he said that if I hadn't mentioned it to him that I wanted to fix the post he would have dry-packed it. People should ask a fencing contractor about the dry pack. The reason for that is that if you dry pack, firstly there is no structural stability and secondly they have to pack the cement below the grade so they can have a reservoir they can pour water into. When you do that the wood, no matter whether it is treated or not, is exposed to soil. In this area you get a lot of moisture in the air so it keeps the wood moist and shortens the fence. That's my feeling. I had Lasik pack it up above the grade to keep the soil away from the post. He did it and said he would do whatever I wanted done. He did a good job. He was competitive so I would say it was a superior price. It was just a little bit more expensive. They all came in the same range. He also gave us more information on what he would do. He was pretty quick and right on there.

Received 3 estimates for the project. Magdici Fences & Decks was the highest, however first impression in meeting Timothy along with depth of detail shared and provided in the bid, reflected much credibility. When reconnecting with Timothy to evalauate scope and costs, he readjusted some pricing thereby making the estimate more competitive. The project occurred during busy summer period of the year, therefore schedule was > 1 month out to start. Work started on the date committed...we had extreme heat during the entire week of the project with 4 days topping 100F. Timothy worked full-days continuously so to complete to targetted timeline. He was very thorough in all aspects of the project, and phoned me daily to share status and to evalaute any complexities. The original decking was un-level as it was installed directly connected with the contoure of underdecking. The new decking was installed level as Timothy added tier-cut 2x4' to the underdecking and also modifieded the positioning of the railing on the original posts. Had originally intended to reuse some of the existing IPE decking, however after removal there was splintering in the areas where screws removed, therefore decided to replace 100% of the decking. And the finished outcome looks great!

Tim did a fantastic job, and we are very pleased with how the work turned out. He was very prompt and professional when returning our calls, and when he came out for the estimate. We provided a photo of a gate that we saw on the internet, and he was able to build it exactly like the the photo. After a little bit of a delay (due to our need to have the land surveyed for property lines) the work was done. Tim did all the work himself, by himself which is no easy task since property is built on rock!! If you are looking for someone to put in your fence, look no further.

Because Timotei was delayed by another project, he called to postpone the scheduled start on our job. Once he arrived, however, he worked steadily, seemingly without the usual breaks one expects, until our fence was completed. He worked alone (the other members of his team were working elsewhere) and took only a little longer than originally estimated. He did a very good job although he did seem somewhat rushed at the end. The large amount of debris was removed and the yard was pretty well cleaned up. We had shown Timotei a picture of the fence that we wanted and he worked very hard to create it for us. It looks great. We and our neighbors are quite pleased with the results.

His price is what drew me to him because is was half of what other companies wanted. He was very good on time and a good guy.

Tim is a craftsman. The work is beautiful. Not only was he always on time, he used number one materials and his commitment to quality was there from the beginning. It is rare to find a craftsman, let alone one who is always on time, and does exactly what he says he is going to do. The job wasn't cheap, but this was mostly due to the design and the materials specified.

Timotei far exceeded my expectations for this project. As a professional Landscape Designer, I work with many people in the contracting industry, and he was one of the best I have seen. He was on time, followed through with us after the bid, had great work ethic, and in general gave us a beautiful product within the described budget and when he said he would. He kept a clean job site, was respectful, and very willing to work with us through the process. Our neighbor had him build an arbor that turned out very nice, as well. We would highly recommend his work.

THEY HAVE FAST AND GOOD WORKMANSHIP. WE COULD NOT FIND ANYBODY ELSE TO MAKE A CUSTOM GATE FOR US. OTHER COMPANIES COULD NOT BE BOTHERED FOR SUCH A SMALL JOB.
