Started out hopefully. Painter had been recommended by Gary's Paints (GP) and appeared to know his business. I could not be at the house to monitor the work but trusted GP, who told me he did good work. However it was clear that he had not done any prep work on walls; he did not cut in around the woodwork - leaving wavy lines between walls and woodwork; he slopped paint on cabinets and other surfaces that were not to be painted (including a patio table, where he must have set messy paint cans); he did not give adequate coverage on woodwork; and totally missed painting several areas on both walls and woodwork. He admitted coverage was very poor in some areas and did some remedial work but his attitude was surly. Most of the problems I decided to live with; I wanted just to get him gone and reclaim use of my kitchen. The very last day (when he was touching up areas he had missed) I ensured I was present. His hands were incredibly shaky; I can only speculate why. He may have been a good painter at one time but I was not happy with the work he did on my job.
Description of Work: Painting small kitchen and pantry walls and woodwork; did not paint cabinets or shelves.
