My wife and I could not be more pleased with the results. David was the third landscape designer that we met with and the only one who was really in sync with what we wanted to do with our yard. David listened to our ideas and incorporated the ones that made sense but frankly he mostly had better ideas. He thought of things that we never would have and the results are stunning. Besides his fantastic design, David also was on the job almost every day supervising the installation. For this job he was partnered with JS Landscaping, and they worked together extremely well. On top of creating and installing a beautiful landscape plan, David really exceeded all of our expectations by figuring our a very economical way to address a chronic drainage problem. For the ten years we've lived at our current location our backyard has been a swamp for 8-9 months of the year. Over the years we've talked to two or three contractors about addressing this issue and they all had different recommendations and all of them we very expensive $8k-$12k. We did not think we could afford to address this problem as part of our landscape budget so we did not include it in the original scope of work. However, David asked if he could do some exploring into the problem. He dug a number of test holes and looked at our perimeter house drain. Among other things, he discovered that a large section of our roof drained into a perforated pipe in the middle of the swampiest area of our backyard! No other contractor showed any interest in finding out the source of the problem, they just wanted to charge us a lot of money to mitigate the issue (with no guarantees). Besides fixing the perimeter drain, David ended up having a large trench dug leading off into the drainage area behind our house and used the drainage rock that we were having replaced from our dog run to fill it - killing two birds with one stone. This additional work (which we authorized) was less than $4k, far cheaper than any previous drainage remediation estimate we'd gotten before. It's been about a month since the drainage work was done and our yard is drier than it has ever been outside of summer months.
