VANCOUVER PAVING CO

I obtained bids for paving my driveway from several paving companies.  They all came out and "measured" the area to be paved.  Most of the bidders took less than 5 minutes to measure the area.  Jeff took closer to 10.  I was wondering if it was because he didn't know how to measure it or if he was being very meticulous.  It was the latter.  When all the bids came back, Jeff was the cheapest, by far, and the most accurate as far as total square feet, which he broke down into sections (I have a long entrance that opens up into a large circle and I also paved some of my neighbor's driveway which extends past mine).  Jeff was also the only bidder to list the curb I asked for in the quote and he was the only one that asked what thickness I wanted.  Needless to say, I went with Jeff and Vancouver Paving.  I was told they were super busy and the earliest they could get me in was going to be late August, early September (this was in late July).  A few days later, Jeff emailed and said they had a cancellation and he wanted to give me first dibs for the open day.  I jumped at the opportunity and they came out the following Monday.  A team of men showed up around 7:30 am and they were gone before noon.  While they laid the pavement down, one guy used a tool to pack the edges of the blacktop smooth.  I've seen MANY blacktop driveways in my lifetime and I've never seen a smooth edge.  Usually they leave it "rough."  It was a little extra step that I appreciated.  I didn't ask them to do it, they just wanted to give me the best possible looking product and I really liked that.  A few days later a truck showed up and a small team of guys put down the curb.  I couldn't be happier with Jeff and the whole team at Vancouver Paving.  In a few years when we build our next house, you can bet I'll be calling Vancouver Paving.

Worked with Jim. He was GREAT! Quickly responded each time I emailed him. They had a full schedule in month of May but Jim emailed me or called me each Tuesday to apprise me of any potential openings. They were able to find an opening and get our project done. Not only that, when they removed the original parking lot, there was add'l work required. Jim had it filled and communicated with me continually with updates. No add'l charge!
I highly recommend this company. Easy and fantastic to work with. We will be using them again in the future!!
