Darren was awesome. He was quick to come out to inspect the damage and give me an honest evaluation with various options. He was quick to schedule a work start date and came out with his crewman. Once on the job he gave me updates as he worked with possible solutions to repair the rot. Best of all he gave me his opinion on the best way to prevent this from happening again and fixed the problem with long term solution in mind. Great knowledge of siding, framing, roofing, gutters etc. Outstanding work when finished up. I would highly recommend him for any home repair.

Working with Tri Coast was great from when Darren, the owner, came out for an estimate to the time the work was complete. Darren and his crew restored our home to its original character, working very much from scratch to add a belly band, drip edge, corner boards, window trim, repair missing/rotten siding areas, and even replace every corbel which were once botched and now are beautiful. Once everything was prepped they painted the whole house which has a lot of trim work, and not a single detail was missed. I’m amazed at the care they put into their work and us as a customer and at the same time how quickly the whole project went! We have gotten many complements since the work was done. We hope to have them back for more projects in the future!

The company did an excellent job. They were very meticulous and completed everyone of my work requests. Both houses are three story with very steep roofs and had several difficult to reach areas to paint. I could not be happier with their work. There were five painters on the job everyday. Darren, the owner, was so organized, that all five personnel were working in unison with no dead time and no one standing around. When I asked, he explained that he had worked in the house painting business since he was 15 years old. He estimated that he had painted approximately 1500 houses thus far. Hire this guy, he is good!

I am very happy with the work that was done. I talked to, and received estimates from several contractors, and Darren Eang impressed me with his professional, respectful demeanor, and I was also pleased that his estimate was approximately $4,000 less than the other contractor who I was considering. Darren and his crew worked quickly and efficiently, and did and excellent job. I am very happy with the results! My house looks better than I had hoped for. Darren was always willing to explain things and answer my questions. I appreciate that he was also willing to do more than we originally had discussed, like decorative shingles on the gables, and red cedar on the soffit above the porch. He also recommended adding more vents to the roof, and installing a missing window pane for an attic window. I will definitely call on Darren again, when I'm ready to have some renovations done inside my home.

We had waited till late in the season to decide on painting our house, so we were very happy that Darren felt that he and his crew could still get it done for us before the weather turned.  Work was scheduled and completed within 2 weeks.  The crew worked hard and still seemed to enjoy themselves.  All were very polite and pleasant.  The house looks good.  We are very happy with the color and the coverage.  The front of the sheds look pretty good too.  It's the back of the sheds that is the problem.  The old paint is still showing, a very thin coat of paint was applied, and there certainly isn't the two coats of paint we contracted for.  We have called Darren and he said that he will come back out and take care of it when the weather allows.  Looking forward to that happening this spring.

Darren Eang, the owner, was always punctual, professional, quick to address any concerns or changes that came up. The men who worked for him were wonderful, even helping me do a couple of things they were' t responsible for. The work was done in stages, and Darren always kept us in the loop by texting so we always knew who would be here and when. When he originally bid the job, we got more information about building codes that none of the other contractors told us about, which turned out to be very valuable indeed. The house and decks are beautiful! I not only highly recommend this company, but when their painting season is over, Darren is going to do a down to the studs remodel of the bathroom. Can't wait!

Darren has great ideas.  He has a keen eye for adding style.  I never thought about adding base and cap moldings to the existing pillars.  This addition made all the difference.  Everyone who sees the work thinks it's great!  His crew worked very hard.  No slackers!  When Darren worked with them, they all appeared to have a good working relationship.  Impressive.

Excellent.  We originally contacted Darren Eang late last summer (August 2014) and due to our lack of proper scheduling, found ourselves in the bind of having to wait until the following year to have the work done.  Some people would worry but since I found Tri-Coast on Angie's List, I wasn't worried in the least.  As soon as the weather permitted, Darren called us up and had our work scheduled lickety split.  The house was completely prepped, scraped & sanded where needed, caulked, masked, primed and painted including gutters, facias, garage doors (interior and exterior) as well as our outbuildings. They completed the work so quickly that I had to ask if they really laid 2 coats of paint...yes, they really and truly work quickly and efficiently.  I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have their house painted.

Darren Eang and his crew were punctual and professional.  My wife and I loved working with Tri-Coastal.  I got bids from about five painters and his recommendations lined up very well with the other bidders that struck me as the most professional.  I was surprised to see that his rating with the BBB was even a little better than the others (A+ instead of A or A-).  The thing you should be aware of, however, is that Darren does not appear to have much of a back office -- I think he pretty much answers all of his own phone calls.  It probably means you are not paying for some administrative overhead but it also means it may take a day or so for him to get back to you.  Just be prepared for that.  During the actual painting, which took about 2 days after the surface had dried from preparation, he was continuously in contact and answered calls within hours if not minutes.

We were very happy with the result. Darren and his crew did a great job. We wanted to change the way the trim had been painted in the past, so Darren listened, offered advice, and in the end got it done exactly as we had agreed. The crew had close attention to detail with their work: scraped the old paint really well, power washed the exterior, were sure to clean up after work ended each day, and touched up the trim very nicely at the end.
There were a couple minor instances where we felt like email, phone, or text communication was a little delayed from their side, but overall communication was responsive and accurate.
We would definitely hire them again.

Darren was very responsive to my inquiry on the phone, and came out the next day.  He went over the work with me and provided a detailed written quote.  It took me a couple of weeks to get another quote but I was happier with Darren's quote and his demeanor, so decided to go with him.  It took only a couple of days for him to get started on the work, but then there were a couple of days delay due to his workers being out.  He was very apologetic about the delay, and I could tell he was doing all he could to manage.  He pitched in to do some of the work himself.  
Once they got started, it went fairly quickly, although not quite as quickly as Darren said it would (a day or so longer, not bad).  His main painter Eric was a very hard worker and did an excellent job on the painting. The bedroom walls were orange and it took him two coats of primer plus a coat of the new beige paint, but it turned out beautifully. The workers who did the siding replacement were also great.  They cleaned everything up really well.  We ended up having to replace more of the siding than we thought - when they started painting the side of the house they found some additional areas of dry rot hidden behind the bushes. 
Each time we needed to add on to the scope Darren gave me what I thought was a fair price.  He was patient with my changes and really great to work with.  He was at the house every day to check on the work, and inspected it all before pronouncing it done.
Overall, they did a great job for a good price.  I would definitely reocommend them.

The reviews I read on Angie's List that sent me to Tri Coast are accurate. Extremely professional, but also flexible and helpful at every turn. The only reason I'm giving Communications a "B" instead of an "A" is that in the busiest house painting season, communications can slow down a little bit. But all in all, I can recommend Darren and Tri Coast very highly.

They were responsive and timely. It was a relief to be able to get all the side-issues dealt with by one company. I would use them again.

We had the exterior of our home painted. The exterior looks pretty good. They caulked all the joints, replaced some boards and painted. We were satisfied with the actual work done to the house. We took off a couple of points off due to clean up. Our water hose has paint on it, some of our rocks do and so does some of the bark dust. Overall though they did a pretty good job. We'd hire them again. Darren answered all the questions we had for him, walked us through the process and was easy to work with.

I chose them because they used brushes rather than spray painting. I was impressed with the professionalism of the team lead assigned to me. There were three painters all together and it took only one day to finish cleanly and with no problems with plantings and hard to reach areas. It was evident that the two workers were learning their duties on the job. The lead painter did a terrific job of actively training hem and keeping an eye out for flubs while doing some of the tough spots himself. His training abilities got the best from his workers and it was a happy group. As one who has dealt with the military most of my adult life, I know good trainers when I see them. They arrived on time, did the job thoroughly, cleaned up and I'm very happy with the job and paint. I recommend them.
