SKILL REMODELING

Very friendly and responsive job foreman who daily let in all subs that did work. Professional folder well organized with info on the job. The job foreman promptly returned my phone calls when I had questions or concerns during the job.Porta potty delivered before the work started--I didn't ask for it or think it was necessary. Problem surfaced after the job was completed and I had paid in full when I was notified by electrician and sheetrockers that they were not paid. I was served with 2 intents to lien and I had to sweat out several months of litigation, phone calls, etc. At the eleventh hour before I had to go to court, the subs finally got paid. Part of the problem was,I failed to read the fine print of the contract outlining Washington law that states the consumer has the right to withhold final payment until all subs submit written documentation of being paid in full. In fairness to Skill Remodeling, this happened at the sudden downturn of the economy. However, it was very uncomfortable to worry about the potential of having to pay twice for the same job. I had to make numerous calls to the company owner. Despite the fact I maintained civility on the phone and never raised my voice, he left a comment on a Consumer website making me look like the bad guy.
