Juvenal, of Showgreen Landscaping, has been providing outstanding service to our yard for over 11 years now. We would't have it any other way! We have an oversized corner lot yard with a small creek. Somehow he manages to stay on top everything beautifully. He keeps up on the mowing, edging, trimming, weeds, leaf removal, fertilizing,etc. Being highly trained and skilled he keeps all plants, and trees under a certain height, expertly pruned and healthy. He has a schedule for doing things at the optimal time of year and keeps a watchful eye for needs that may come up unexpectedly. We oftentimes consult with him about improvements or plantings. His recommendations are always thoughtful and valuable. He has been able to troubleshoot several issues with the sprinkler system, which has saved us the inconvenience and extra expense of calling in a sprinkler company. When we have had a special event coming up Juvenal has always been flexible, working with us to get the yard ready. This last year we hosted a wedding. Juvenal put in extra time and effort to help us make that happen. Several of the guests commented on how lovely the yard and setting were. Pictures are posted below. When we discuss specific issues, or negotiate work that is outside the parameters of the contract, Juvenal communicates clearly and is very conscientious about following through with his commitments. In addition to being experienced, knowledgeable and skilled he his extremely reliable, honest and hard working. We find him easy to approach and a pleasure. We enjoy our yard very much and so appreciate all that Juvenal does to care for it.

The quality of work was excellent. Communication was poor. After a several years, Juvenal suddenly said we were a month behind on our payments. We had complete records of every payment, but he insisted, then quit. We guess he may have wanted out of the contract and this may have been a way out. We miss his good work, but not his anger and poor communication.

It was good. They're thorough and kind and they cleaned up.

He was very easy to work with and reasonable.

Huvenal gave us an estimate for his work and we meet with him a couple of times a month to review what needs to be done. We also are pleased to hear his comments about the work being contemplated.

He is professional and knows his landscaping. The yard needed clean up from a long hard winter. When he finished the front yard and backyard looked great. I have used his services approximately 4 times. I would recommend him.

1) In our initial meeting we were impressed. He showed up on time, gave us a reasonable bid. We hired him, agreed on a time and he and his crew were there when they said they would be, They did a great job getting our back yard to look park-like as it did a few months before when we initially put our house on the market. They mowed,edged, trimmed bushes, weeded and even hand trimmed the wisteria and there was a lot of it. We told him what a great job he did and told him if we needed more work we would hire him for that too. For this experience I would rate him an A. This was 2009.
2) Once in our new place we wanted our yard to be maintained, not on a monthly basis, but on an as needed basis, every 2-3 months. We again called Show-green. We told him we could keep up the mowing, and edging but wanted someone to come take care of the trimming/shaping/weeding etc that builds up over time. He agreed and quoted us a fee of 75.00 a visit. He asked us to TEXT him about a week before we wanted him to come, and he would work us into the following weeks schedule. He said he specifically wanted this kind of communication as he had agreed to do quarterly maintenance with a client before, but lost that client because he forgot to pencil him in. We followed this routine and everything seemed fine. We text, he responded with a date, left an invoice we sent a check. Come winter, he notified us that he would be going to Mexico over the winter months and could resume in the spring. This was ok by us as there wasn't much to do in winter months anyway. We agreed to text him again in the Spring to restart service. This was 2010. In Spring of 2011, we sent the text but got no response. I tried calling, left messages, never a call back. I sent several more texts over the following month but he never replied. I thought maybe he decided to stay in Mexico, but later saw the Show-Green truck while we were out and he was behind the wheel. We ended up not having the work done for the spring/summer/fall of 2011. For 2010, I rate him an A. For 2011, we rate him an F. I had no idea why he did not respond to any calls or texts. We had a small, easy yard to work with, always paid immediately, and had what seemed a great relationship with him and his crew. If he was too busy, or did not want to do quarterly work, all he had to do was notify us.
3) in 2012, we decided to get bids on weekly maintenance. My husband was tired of yard work and my son had allergy attacks every time he mowed the lawn. So along with many other companies we called Show-Green again. I explained in my voicemail that we wanted a weekly maintenance schedule, and to give us a call back to schedule a bid. No return call. I even tried texting with a reminder of who we were and the work he did for us in the past. Still no response. So, for 2012, I rate him an F.
In summary, I know of no reason he would not want to work with us and we had a small simple yard that would be a piece of cake for any yard maintenance team. we were immediate payers, had a great, friendly relationship, even saw him in grocery stores around town and he would always stop to speak with us. I don't get his lack of response. I just have to assume something has changed on his end and with the business. I find the lack of communication, even if you don't have room in the schedule to do the work very unprofessional and downright rude. After the lack of response, I would not call him again to do any work for us even though the work he did in the past was nicely done. Overall, unreliable and unprofessional.

Mr. Hernandez did an absolutely great job. The side benefit of him cleaning all the yard debris from our driveway and walkway is that I don't have to damp mop the tiny leaves from mimosa every time someone comes in the house.

I only wish I had contacted him sooner so that I could have gotten more done to my lawn before the rainy/wintery season began in earnest.

However, I do plan on having him return in the spring and thatch the lawn and numerous other yard related tasks, plus set up a maintenance schedule for mowing, getting rid of weeds, etc.

SHOW-GREEN LANDSCAPE COMPANY did a fine job. He did exactly what we wanted.

The first job in April he spent all day working in the yard, moving rock, removing bushes, planting sod. I needed additional work done in July trimming all of the scrubs in the yard, spraying weeds, edging the lawn and making the yard look great. He hauled all the trimmings way and he had an assistance both times. I appreciated him being here doing the work instead of having someone else do it for him.

Juvenal (owner and operator) was involved in and/or oversaw all aspects of the work that was done. Communication was prompt, professional, and immediate. It is clear that Mr. Hernandez stands by his work 100% and has a great deal of integrity when it comes to doing excellent, top notch work. He knows what he is doing and scheduled completion of work based on timing tasks for optimum outcome. (For example, over seeding was done just prior to oncoming rain to provide the best chance for watering and seed setting.) My prior experience has been that of needing to closely oversee/follow-up on whatever work I had hired others to do. As a result, I made several calls to Mr. Hernandez to check on progress. It became quickly evident that this was one gentleman who did not require micro-management. He kept all aspects of the project in mind, stayed on top of the job and completed the work without need for worry, concern or prompting. We plan to be regular clients of Mr. Hernandez.

After reading a glowing review here on Angie's List, I called Show Green Landscape for an estimate to cut back and shape all our bushes and small trees (big ones were done in the Spring and were not in need) and to provide general clean up, to include the fall leaves and to clear the debris. Our home is for sale and after at least 6 months of growth and all the leaves, it was in need of some freshening up. Juvenal suggested he stop by the following day for an estimate, which he did. After looking it all over, and discussing some of the particulars with me, he left me with the estimate to talk over with my husband. We decided to give him the job and called to schedule. He offered me the same time/date we discussed on his visit. They showed up as expected and got straight to work. They were busy for the better part of 5.5 hours and when they were done both the front and back yards looked great! I didn't realize just how "choked" out the yard was until everything was trimmed back and cleaned up. They were professional, friendly and seemed eager to please. It was easy to see they took pride in their work. I love the look of a professionally maintained yard, and ours had that look when they left. I only wished I had included trimming our arborvitaes into the work. We elected to go with the lower estimate, excluding them, since they were done in the Spring and we didn't feel it was necessary yet. However, the difference in quotes was not that much so in hindsight, it would have been icing on the cake completing the manicured look. We hope our home sells and we will not need Show Green in the Spring, but if not, we will not hesitate to give Juvenal our business again. We hope to be able to hire them again for our new home as well.

About three years ago we moved into our home in Lake Oswego. We were attracted to our home's beautiful park like backyard. We quickly realized that the care and maintenance that it required was more than we could manage. We initially hired a larger landscaping company. The work they did was adequate but there was much left to be done. A neighbor recommended Juvenal Hernandez of Show-green Landscape Company. We immediately noticed the difference. Juvenal truly took ownership for the care of our yard. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable about the the pruning needs of specific plants and shrubs, the safe and effective use of sprays and chemicals as well as the most efficient schedule of maintenance. He obviously has years of experience. Juvenal's contract is very clear and accurate. He is honest, conscientious and reliable. He almost never misses a scheduled day. In the rare occasions that he has, he communicates well about it and completes all necessary work in a timely manner. He never has let us down. Our yard, with a small creek running through the back portion, has some unusual challenges. Sometimes I joke with my husband that if we didn't have Juvenal we would have had to move a long time ago. In reality, this may not be a joke! Show-green Landscape has greatly increased the enjoyment of our home and yard and Juvenal has been a pleasure to have as our landscape professional.

Mr. Hernandez is a certified landscaper with "C.L.T" in WA and OR. Pest. Lic. His team is very courteous and professional. His work has always been good and he goes the extra mile. He will often do extras at no charge as long as they are not major projects.
