The designer came to my home to discuss the project in the fall. She took photos and measurements of the existing yard and we talked about plants I wanted to keep and what plants I might like to add. After the designer completed the preliminary design she came back for us to talk in greater detail and then she revised the design based on our discussion and my preferences. Once she completed the final design, she provided three contractor suggestions and I met with and obtained bids from each of them. The contractor removed the sod, amended the soil and procured the plants, then the designer returned for plant placement. I appreciated the attention to detail that the designer provided for my project from start to finish, including not feeling like anything was forced on me. She had lots of great plant suggestions, and when I didn't like some of them, she had more options to provide. I felt like I had ample time to digest the changes and research the plants I was not familiar with in order to determine if I wanted them or not. I am hoping to make similar changes in my backyard in the future and will definitely use this designer again.
Description of Work: There is no category on Angie's List for Landscape Design, but that is what this company and this report should be listed under. I wanted the grass in my front yard removed to have the garden designed for plants only, which is what the company's owner did over about six months.
