Laminate Wood or Stone Flooring - Install
$60,000
Short version: good laborers, but terrible communication. River City Granite installed the Mohawk laminate flooring throughout my nearly 2000 square foot home as well as installed cabinets made by RCG in the kitchen. RCG was a sub-contractor for the contractor I hired. The work on my home started several weeks late due to RCG failing to communicate with my contractor, took weeks longer than their original estimate, and several months after the work has been completed, I am still playing email tag because they have been unable to keep me informed about a backordered floor repair kit. The laborers that performed the work did a great job overall, however there are some gaps in the flooring where they cut to fit corners and edges. The cabinets have some holes where they missed studs and had to relocate the screw and there are holes where they mounted the door on the wrong side of a cabinet and didn't patch the holes.

It was really good and looked wonderful. They were very, nice, considerate, cleaned up very well, and it was smooth job. The price was fine.

Very pleasant! Very good. I notice in the beginning when he came over he was thoughtful and understands my pain and agony, he's very insightful, professional and when it comes to decision making on what color of the floor, the island table, cabinets etc. He made some suggestions and it was beautiful. He's very artistic person and I was very happy with his suggestion. I texted him and he respond quickly the the same day.

The company was fabulous. They were here early. Very nice people that work for them. They did a beautiful job. It took less time that I expected it to. They came and measured the countertops and 2-3 weeks later they installed the new ones after removing the old ones. I've recommended them already.

He is really good.  He knows his stuff.  He knows how to work around previous construction issues.  Nothing rattles him, very calming.  He went with me when I went to pick out the granite.  He gave the diamond seal a 15 year guarantee.  It still looks nice.  My kitchen sink was out of use for only one day.  They cleaned up after they were finished.

Overall very poor quality work. Granite tile counter tops were removed and replaced with carbon black quartz. The installer, David who is also the vice president of the company, said that it would be likely that the back splash w/be damaged when removing the old counter-top. I was warned about that so I'll give him credit for that and it did indeed happen. The new counter-top arrived with marks, rubs and two chips which occurred during process and delivery. The mars are permanent and still remain even though the job is completed. The new back splash was installed in a very sloppy manner. I chose a slate mosaic back-splash which is very wavy and the response I got from the installer was that is the nature of the slate. In reality however, the drywall was not properly prepared which they also did. On the kitchen island there was a large gap between the counter and the wall. The installer replied by saying "how much time do you spend on the floor looking up at that? He did fill it in with a rubber caulking which was not proper caulk for this location. He had an excuse for everything and the finished product left me with very poor quality work. The counter top behind the electric range is not even with the rest of the counter and his response to that was, "hmmm, wonder how that happened." The one seam in the counter-top is very wide and clearly noticeable and the edges of the counter-top look like they were colored with black magic marker. The attitude from the installer was to just get the job done so he could move on to the next job. Buyer BEWARE. If you are looking for quality work you won't find it with this company.
