 + 0 moreSteve gave me estimates to permanently repair two mantel clocks that were not working. He advised me to replace the inner workings of both clocks as both were known for having defective factory parts that no amount of repairs would fix in the long run. He was able to get one of the clocks working again (for free) with a quick fix that he said would probably not last too long because of the defective parts issue. Both Steve and his wife Susan were very friendly and professional and even gave my 4 year old grandson a mini tour of their shop, much to his fascination. A visit to their business was a most pleasant experience plus the clocks and other time pieces that were for sale were very interesting to see!
Description of Work: Steve got my mantel clock running again with a simple, quick fix.

Description of Work: I received an estimate and left my clock for repairs. It will be disassembled and cleaned, with worn out parts replaced. (The clock is over 100 years old, so there is some wear). They required half of the fee when I left the clock. They were very informative and professional, explaining exactly what repairs my clock needed. The only sad thing is they are so busy that it will be 5/6 months before my clock can come home.

 + 2 moreLoved the service and the clock works great!!! Steve is very good at explaining everything that is wrong with the clock. I could tell he has a great love for what he does!! I will use him again!
Description of Work: I asked Steve to come over and look at my great great aunts grandfather clock as I wanted a general service on it and to give me an approximate idea of cost. He did this however was explicit in saying he needed to look inside before final price. Steve was very professional and thorough. We exchanged emails and phone calls. The clock did need some work as it had some wearing inside the workings of it. I also wanted to see if Steve could locate exactly what kind of clock it was and could we make a copy of the fret work as mine was broken. He is still looking, and we are waiting to hear an organization from London.
