He seemed prompt and courteous on the phone. Called me back right away to schedule. Had to call because he was an hour late for scheduled time (but at least he called). Upon arrival the stench of cigarettes was SO STRONG on this man I gagged. Normall smoking isn't a HUGE issue for me but this was excessive. Communication was very difficult from the beginning. I was under a HUGE time crunch so didn't feel like I could try to find someone else. David was difficult to talk to, interrupted me when I was trying to explain what I wanted, and just generally didn't "get" what I was saying at any time. We finally figured out what he was going to do and I left him to do it. He talks to himself during work.. I don't mean muttering I mean full on arguing with himself to the point of making me feel uncomfortable. After two hours of this I finally called my daughter to come over, feeling like this was going from strange to worse. We got to the end of the rerouting (after about 3 hours) and he asked me to come over to look. We have an existing water filtration system installed off of the cold water. David INSISTED on installing a "dual valve" on this "t" even though we had a valve to turn off the water. He argued with me for several minutes until I finally just said "whatever you think is best.. but the old system has been working for over two years". He took another hour to finish that and got even more agitated after our argument. He chastised my daughter for trying to use the bathroom, although hadn't said anythign about turning off our water from the street (and it was unnecessary as we have a manifold system in our garage that turns off all of our individual water featrues in the house). My daughter was dumbfounded as was I at how BIZARRE this man was and had my husband been home I would have thrown him out. We ended up paying for a job that should have taken 2 hours.. and got completely TAKEN by this plumber, paying over $600 for this service. After the service I was just glad that he had left.. I opened my kitchen sink cabinet to see what he had done and he had spilled a can of chew all over the floor of my cabinet and didn't clean it up. UnREAL!! Follow up: 2 weeks later we found that the dual valve he installed had been dripping and we now have mold all over the bottom of our cabinet. No way I'm calling him back to fix it - would rather pay another plumber. :( I would NOT recommend this man to anyone.
