I had verified 240 volts input and good continuity and resistance for the baking and broiling elements and the temperature sensor by myself prior to Manny's visit. He took my electrical diagnostics at face value and did not do any electrical diagnostic tests himself but just found the decal showing the model number of the stove and checked prices for new controller board and quoted me about $400 for parts and $400 for labor and recommended just replacing the entire stove. I asked him to do diagnostics but he said he wouldn't do them as it usually is a bad controller based upon my diagnostics. This all cost me $85 for a quote that I could look up myself. And $800s for the controller board replacement parts and labor was excessive. Sears quotes $188 for a range controller with clock. I really wanted someone who would do diagnostics and find out exactly what needed to be fixed. And then tell me how much it would cost.
