About us
Northwest Roof Maintenance, Inc. is a Portland/Vancouver area roof maintenance and repair company. We do not do complete re-roofs which allow us to specialize in the inevitable maintenance and repair needed on shake, tile, and composition roofs. We offer options for removing the moss from your roof, as well as treating to prevent future moss growth. Our crews are all trained to handle a myriad of roof repairs, from leaks to broken tiles to curling shakes. In addition, our consultants will inspect each roof in person to ensure that we are accurately diagnosing the needs for that specific roof.

The estimator provided me with very good photos of the current state of the roof. The estimate contained a clear depiction of all work to be done. The crew that did the actual work tried hard to provide me with clear pictures of the work "in process" and when completed. They bent over backwards to make sure that I was very pleased with their repair work. I will use them again in the future.

The cost of the service ($435) wasn’t worth having someone go up on the roof with a blower. Nothing was really “cleaned” because there was no debris on my roof and moss treatment was poorly applied. Service was in January and still had moss in the summer. If you think “cleaning” means actual cleaning of your roof, that’s not what you get.

The work went very well and we are pleased that our roof no longer leaks! As added benefits, our gutters look great and we don't have to worry about strange downspouts. The crew cleaned up very nicely after themselves. As an aside, the reader may notice the leak occurred in December, but was not fixed until February. That delay was not the fault of NWRM. As mentioned, we were delayed by some other circumstances; NWRM responded promptly. I would absolutely work with Northwest Roof Maintenance and would recommend them.

I chose Northwest Roof Maintenance because for about the same money as their highly advertised competitor, they did not only moss removal and gutter cleaning, but also "nail pop" repair in a good portion of the roof and ridge cap replacement. They also patched a minor leak around the solar hot water heater pipe. I was impressed by their professionalism on the phone: I called for details on the proposed work as well as to talk about the leak they patched and their employee did a good job of explaining for the layman.
Their two-man crew arrived promptly and finished the work in about 1/2 a day. The site was cleaned up fairly well, and the roof looks good.
The only complaint I might offer is this: when our house was painted about 3 weeks later, rotten plywood was discovered under one of the soffits over the garage. This seems like something they might have picked up on in their inspection. I had to have another contractor rip it out and replace it (plus the shingles attached to it) on an emergency basis since it interfered with the painters' work.
Their two-man crew arrived promptly and finished the work in about 1/2 a day. The site was cleaned up fairly well, and the roof looks good.

Ben from Northwest Roof Maintenance arrived promptly after my initial call. He quickly provided a reasonable estimate for services, and based on other Angie's List reviews and a quick glance at the Better Business Bureau website, we did not bother to "shop around." The team arrived promptly on the scheduled date and worked all day to complete the job. They did wonderfully!! Our concrete has never looked so good, and they were able to nicely match replacement tiles with our existing roof. We were extremely pleased and would use them again!

They came out to look at the job and I had an estimate by the end of the same day. They had the most competitive price by far for my 1600sq ft two story home. I wished to schedule and they were about two weeks out from doing the job. They called to inform me what day they would be there. I called to verify the time which she had said mid afternoon. That was perfect because I work nights and sleep during the day. I told her that and then she changed her mind and had him come out at 9:30am. He showed up at 9:30am, a man of few words, and got right to it. He was there for almost 5 hours. They did a good job for a good price. My only issue was the changing of the time which made for a long day.

They did an awesome job. They had the most reasonable bid out of the other companies I looked into. They are my regular roofer now. They were very responsive and able to come out before winter to make sure the roof held up trough the season. The technicians are professional, efficient and hard workers. My roof looks really good now. It is very easy to schedule with the company. The receptionist is great at communicating projects to the team.

The gutter cleaning went fine. It worked out really well. Only that the outside, they just put a type of liquid on the roof but there's only two spots that haven't really come off. I don't know how they do it they said they had to do it by hand chances are there will be damages on the shingles. I don't know if that's an alternative or not. They were on time.

The roof was power washed, repaired and treated and looked good from the ground. My yard was a mess but I pretty much expected that. The gutters were not cleaned out. In fact they were full of mud and debris in 4 corners, completely blocking the flow. An entire side of my house was caked with mud and debris from the power washing. Upon inspecting the roof, I found that some shakes were replaced but there were many broken ones left unrepaired and there were several holes left down to the felt on 2 sides of the roof. My wooden deck was damaged from the cleats they wore to walk on the roof. I contacted Joe and he did power wash the side of my house but nothing was done about anything else. I finally contacted another roofer to complete the work who informed me that the replaced shakes had been top nailed. I had to have all the reworked shakes replaced and the remaining issues fixed. I will not ever use Northwest Roof Maintenance again. They did more harm than good.

They were pretty easy to deal with. I picked them because their estimate was quite a bit lower than the other two companies that I had checked. They were pretty thorough and everything looks good. I have nothing to compare their work to. I don't know if they are top notch or not. I thought it was satisfactory. I would use their services again in the future.

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REPORT! I have used this company several times in the past, and 3 years ago I was disappointed because our gutters were not cleaned out, our downspouts clogged, and a couple of the downspouts separated from the gutter in the process of the cleaning. However the moss treatment that was used actually worked, in fact, both Joe and his workers stated that the moss really wasn't bad and the roof could have waited 1 more year. This fact combined with the price quotes I was getting from other companies encouraged me to call Joe again. He was prompt in returning my call and said he could do the work for the same price this time as 3 years ago, with 1 big difference. Last time he used a power washer, this time his guys would hand brush the entire roof. My roof is concrete tile and power washing wears the surface; it also voided my warranty, but it was too expensive to have it hand brushed in the past so I had it power washed. My roof is also about 2000 sq ft, rather steep and has multiple peaks making it more difficult to clean. Joe's team showed up right on time, knew exactly how to walk on a concrete tile roof so they wouldn't crack any tiles, worked quietly, treated the roof to r***** future moss, and about 4 hours later the job was done. The gutters had been cleaned, and my yard was left pristine. Joe's crew doesn't normally replace concrete tiles because of the difficulty in finding a good match, but I have a stockpile, so they were happy to replace my cracked and broken tiles for me. Since then we have had some pretty strong rain and there wasn't a leak or overflow anywhere. I will definitely use them again, and now Joe offers a 5% senior discount.
