Mr B was great to work with. He diagnosed and fixed both our recliners in one visit. He knows his way around these repairs, and I was glad I called him. The cost was reasonable, and it's great to have our chairs up and running again

Arrived promptly, successfully removed broken bolt, and told me where to find a replacement bolt locally, all at a very reasonable price. I couldn't be happier. I don't have to buy a new recliner..

Don wasn't sure if he had the scissor mechanism part for our recliner model. He said he'd look around and get back to me. In the meantime, I wrote down the info needed just in case we had to contact the retailer. A day later, I received a phone call stating he had the part. A few days later, he stopped by and replaced the mechanism within the hour. Ending up paying $175, but it was worth every penny. My husband can now successfully close his side of the recliner and it's quieter than before and no longer creeks. I may be calling him again in the future, if my recliner side starts to go. Overall, Don was very professional and was happy to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend him for any recliner repair.

I called Relax The Back in Beaverton to see where I might get the chair repaired. They do mechanical repairs, it sounds like at a reasonable price, but you have to bring the chair in or pay for pickup and return, and that is only if you are within the service area, they don't serve Washington residents. It sounds like it's not the distance but the tax complications. But they recommended Mr. B's. I called him and we made an appointment that was like 1 or 2 days later. He came by, extracted the stripped bolts, drilled out the holes a little bigger and put some larger bolts in to make it more sturdy, and voila it was fixed. It took about 30-40 minutes. Cost was only $100. This was a case where the results were way better than my expectations of what the cost and effort I would have to expend to get my chair fixed. If you have a recliner that needs fixing and he can fix it, his service is the perfect tool for the job.

Mr. B was fantastic. This was a recliner I purchased from Macy's in 2012 and purchased a 7 year no worry extended structure warranty. After two and a half years the reclining mechanism started popping and grinding. The repair person that was a third party from Macy's came out and said the chair needed a new mechanism and should have not failed yet. The service man from extended warranty said he would order a new mechanism and I would hear back from the insurance company within a week. A week later I received an email from the insurance company stating that the repair man reported that the mechanism had failed to normal wear and tear and that I should be denied for the no worry extended structure warranty, two and a half years into the warranty. After writing a complaint to Macy's customer service, I received no reply. I sent the complaint to Macy's in email form. At this point, I dropped the matter and decided to have the chair repaired on my own. Contacted Mr B's Recliner Repair on Angie's List. He responded to me by phone with in hours from my home. He came to my home the following evening. When the owner of Mr B, Don Bilden came to my home he was so prepared that he had the corrected mechanism that was needed for the chair, he also found two places in the chair in the wiring that had rubbed through and had shorted out Mr B corrected that as well. The chair works wonderful now and completed the entire job to my complete satisfaction. I recommend Mr B's highly.

Don came from Vancouver to Tigard to give us a FREE estimate and to see if he could repair our recliner. He was right on time for the appointment. He quickly assessed that he could fix our chair and gave us a price and date of completion. He would take the upper portion of our chair to his shop, fix it, and have it back to us in a week. We were thrilled. Like clockwork, he returned the next week at the appointment time with our completely fixed chair part. He helped us move the entire chair back into the family room. After inspecting the work, we concluded that it was some of the best $$$ we have spent. We would use Don again in a heartbeat! Can't say enough good about him.

Don "Mr. B." Bilden is a true craftsman at recliner repair. He came to our home (he was in the area and called to ask if he could come by a few days earlier then scheduled which worked out well for both of us) and quickly and easily fixed two recliners and they are now as good as new.  I love to use local small businesses whenever possible to fix the things I don't know how to fix. I never dreamed there would be a business that made house calls to fix your recliner chairs.  When I found Mr. B on Angie's list I was hopeful that the chairs could be fixed.  I called Mr. B, explained the problems, and he was able to fix them. Folks, I rarely write these reviews, but I really want people to know about this wonderful small business serving the Portland Metro area.  Mr. B's recliner repair worked out perfectly for me and I'm sure he can help you as well.

Don offered to come to our house but we said we could just as easily bring it to him as he is located only fifteen minutes from our home. We loaded it into the back of our Ranger and he took one look at the problem without us even having to unload it, got the part, fixed it, educated us more about how it works and some parts we should keep tightened and we were on our way in a very short amount of time. Highly recommend his service! He knows his business.

Don came to our home the day after we called him.  He was very very prompt and wonderful to work with.  He asked me to send him a picture of the springs on our chair so that he could tell us whether or not he could repair it.  He called me after seeing the pictures and said he could tell that the springs had been improperly placed and yes, he could fix the problem. He came to our home and it only took about 1 hour to fix this problem.
This chair has been in my husband's family for 100 years, so it was really important that it be repaired.
We are extremely grateful to Don for his wonderful service.

He returned my call and set an appointment for the following day around 5 pm.  He showed up right on time and replaced the cable lickity-split.  I paid him with a check.  He asked where I found his company, and I said "Angie's List."  He said "That's been working out very well for me.  Please write a review."  And, whoosh, he was gone.

Don Bilden arrived at 8:58am and he said he would be here at 9:00am.  He came in and saw our shoes sitting inside the door and he promptly removed his shoes (we live in a brand new condo) without asking if he needed to.  The recliner spring that helped keep the footrest down broke so it was hard to close and keep closed.  He promptly replaced the spring and even left me with with an extra.  He came all the way from Vancouver WA to Hillsboro OR.  He did ask to come on a Saturday for traffic reasons and the fact that he had two other appts out in our area.  It was perfectly fine with me to wait until Saturday.  I have another recliner that, I have a feeling, will need his expertise in the near future and will definitely call on him again.  Don was very nice and very professional.

I left a message for Mr. B's thru Angie's List about a recliner repair and was contacted via phone that evening. We set an appointment for Saturday before noon and he arrived @ 1045.
He had all of the necessary parts on hand, and I also had him replace the other springs as long as he was on-site.
It was a quick and efficient repair and I will definitely contact Mr. B's with any future repairs.

Mr. B is very pleasant, considerate, conscious of cost, easy to work with. Visited our home to assess our couch and chair. Repaired chair in home, took couch to his shop to repair and then delivered back to house. Excellent experience.

It is impossible to give full credit to Mr B (Don) for the excellent work he does. We have had him periodically adjust our recliners, replace springs, etc. for the last 10 years. He is very capable and expert in his repairs and his price for service very reasonable. I am late giving this recommendation because I have just become an Angie's list member.

My Barcalounger's foot rest wasn't operating properly.  Don came out, diagnosed the problem immediately, and made the repair.  I was charged the minimum for an onsite repair and I got my lounger back!
