This is the best sweep business I've ever felt with. Hands down would not recommend anyone else. Punctuality, professionalism, explanation of service, and price are above expectation. He was very understanding today when I had maintenance done, I lost $20 of the cash out that I was going to pay for the service, ultimately I wrote a check for the other $20, but he was very understanding of the inconvenience that I provided for him. I am so embarrassed, but I'll get over it I guess. He worked well around my crazy family, and was very patient and kind. I was not able to find anyone to perform services within my budget, but when I found matchbox it was a blessing.

Very professional. I have used for two years for my wood stove. They know what they are doing and are very knowledgeable. I did not have to pay for things that did not need to be done. I hope to use them for years to come!

I was very pleased with their work. They arrived on time, and did the work very quickly and very well.

Fantastic company to work with. Calling to setup an appointment is fast, easy, and very professional. Originally, we wanted to get the chimney's swept a bit earlier than they could fit us in - we scheduled anyway, and when they had time before our scheduled appointment, they confirmed that it was OK and actually came out ahead of schedule! (Tip: maybe get your chimney swept a bit earlier than the week you want to start using it.)
They arrived at the time they said, did an inspection, told us that the fireplace didn't need to be cleaned, but the woodstove could use it - and that given the time of our last chimney sweep (about two years prior), if we keep our wood burning practices about the same (using good, dry wood and with the same frequency), two years would be the right time to schedule the next appointment. Very honest, very professional. They also took a look at the chimney toppers themselves and mentioned one could use replacing, which we decided to do on our own. We paid somewhere around $100 for the services.
Overall, the company is great, which is probably because it's run and staffed by great, honest people. I'll keep using them in the future.

Barb was very prompt in returning my call, providing anwers to my questions and scheduling the service. Garen arrived on time and was very courteous and professional upon entering my home. The inspection indicated that my chimney was not as dirty, as I thought it to be (bird nests were not an issus)and did not necessitate cleaning. I chose to have the chimney cleaned, prior to having the cap installed. Garen performed the cleaning in a most efficient manner and left everything very clean and tidy. Before leaving, he left me with appropriate literature on the service and chinmey cap, as well as a beautiful calendar. Matchbox Chimney Sweeps is a very professionally operated business and I would not hesitate to use or recommend them in the future. Another plus...they offer a senior discount!

Technician was very polite and competent. He explained everything and showed me a photo of the inside of the chimney pipe. He cleaned the cap and said the pipe did not need cleaning because of the way we burned our fires.

I've been using Matchbox for about eight years. The firm changed hands in that time and the quality of the work was nicely consistent. They take your safety seriously and make stern recommendations which we try to fulfill. (Keep that wood small and dry!). Their appointment follow up system works very well allowing them to always show up at the scheduled time.

Excellent service. Contact with his office (wife) was friendly and easy. She contacted us when there had to be a time shift for a delivery to make sure it was all right with us. He was on time, did a very good and careful inspection, and an excellent clean job. And now birds will stop coming down the chimney we don't use. I'm happy.

We had a problem with rain leaking into a commercial building we own. There had been a new roof installed recently, and we knew we needed a chimney cap for it, but also were concerned the roof installation could be part of the problem. He investigated, and said the roof installation looked good, that the chimney cap should address the problem. We don't use that chimney, so we didn't request a full inspection of it. He only charged us for the cap, not for the inspection, even though he had to take two trips to the site.
We then asked for an inspection of the two fireplaces at our home, only one which we use. We knew there would be a charge for this service. But when we asked for caps for both of these fireplaces, he eliminated the inspection fees. He said both our chimneys looked good, but advised what needed to be cleaned (from birds that had been inhabiting it years ago) before using the second chimney. He did not suggest any cleaning or repairs that would have cost us more at this time.
I have heard of chimney inspectors who offer free inspections and then charge for cleaning and repairs that they say are necessary. This is partly why I was more comfortable going with a company that charges for its inspection time, so that the company isn't tempted to make its money fraudulently. Not only did the company do a fine job in every aspect (including the scheduling, etc.) but the fee I was expected to pay was eliminated unexpectedly at the time of billing. He also removed our antennae and a couple miscellaneous items he found on our roof, for no extra charge, but came down to ask me first if I wanted that done.
They were very easy and pleasant to work with, from start to finish.

Inspection alone was $58 and no cleaning was needed. He did recommend putting a top on since there was not one there. I had him add this and that's what increased the price of the overall service (the cost of the inspection and the chimney top was $175 all together). Since this was my choice and they gave me the option I gave an A for price.

Their response was immediate. The service was performed the same day and they were very professional and friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better company.

I couldn't have been more pleased with the evaluation and was very thankful to have what I felt was an ethical company give me the truth about our chimney's condition. I will not use another company for our chimney. They didn't use scare tactics like the competitor (who told me our house was a fire waiting to happen).

They were very personable and nice. Making the appoiuntment was easy. The man that came out was very professional. I was pleased. I will have them come again. He was on time. I was totally impressed.

I use them two years once. I was supposed to do it every year but they have said that really the way we burn doesn't need to have it done every year. They never said that it didn't have to be done every year but when they clean it they do say that it didn't really have that much build up at all that's why I went every two years. They call us every year and they know when there is shedding of snow it is the time to clean our chimney. They are honest and tell us there wasn't that much build up. They seem to do a god job and are very prompt.

They came about 10 minutes late. Very friendly. Inspected both my chimneys and said I didn't need a sweep on either since both looked clean. I appreciated their honesty. They could have recommended a sweep and I would have paid...glad they saved me the money! I will call them for all future chimney needs. Friendly customer service. They talk to you like they are eager to serve you. Also, they gave my kids chimney sweep coloring books....nice touch.

They show up promptly and the price was reasonable. They took care of the problem and did it quickly.

I recently bought a house with both a fireplace and a woodstove. Our home inspector pointed out that the fireplace chimney had a bird nest in it, was missing a rain cap and the damper was inoperable. I chose Matchbox Chimney Sweeps because of their great reviews on Angie'slist and also because they were local, and am very glad I did. Barb, the receceptionist was great and went over their pricing over the phone before anyone came out, so I knew what to expect beforehand, which was very helpful. She got me on their schedule within a week, and her husband Garen came out the Saturday of Labor Day weekend no less. He inspected both chimneys, cleaned the chimney with the bird nest and installed a new rain cap. He was also able to lubricate the damper and get it working again. The woodstove chimney didn't need to be cleaned this visit. Garen also showed me how to operate the the woodstove and went over the in's and out's of both the fireplace and woodstove and their chimneys for me.
