MAGELLAN INSULATION

We were warned the blow-in insulation would make a mess. It did and they worked hard to help us clean. Of course, it took another 2 days to set the house exactly right again. I consider that a small price to pay for the increase in future comfort and energy savings. Usually insulatin is blown-in from the outside to avoid the mess. Our home has the "good" stucco on it. This stucco eats their drill bits and is thus very expensive. We are very happy with the work they did.

Showed up on first visit with crew that was apparently unsupervised, could not speak English, failed to use proper technique and failed to complete the ceiling/floor job. ATTIC PROBLEMS - Attic: Failed to remove two cardboard boxes stored in attiic, creating large gap in insulation. - Attic: Failed to do routine step of putting a fence around attic door to keep insulation at appropriate depth and keep it from falling into living area below. - Attic: Failed to weatherstrip attic door, allowing an air leak. (All three attic problems were remedied after I called an complained.) GARAGE CEILING PROBLEMS More than a month after job was allegedly completed and we'd paid in full, during a cold snap, I noticed the bedrooms above the garage were still very cold. Inspection of the garage suggested that only about one third of the ceiling had holes w/plugs, inidcating the rest of the garage ceiling was totally uninsulated. I complained, a supervisor inspected and agreed with me, and the crews returned to complete the job. They arrived two and a half hours late and a management person said he would terminate them after they did the work. The job is now complete, but our heating bills have been unnecessarily high due to their poor work. I would recommend against using them.

Vacuumed attic area out so we could do some electrical work. Once we had that done they came back in and blew in insulation. Very pleased with their performance, very clean, responsive to our needs, very respectable of our things and we would highly recommend them to anyone.

On the first job, they closed off all of our ventilation spaces. They were late, and when they installed the foam they got it everywhere! It was a real problem. They sent someone out to fix it, and he just complained the while. The second time they made an absolute mess. There was insulation blocks down the street. They did things like blown in insulation in newer space where there shouldn't have been insulation. They saw an open space in one room and just filled it up, and didn't clean it up.

Everyone at this company was helpful, punctual, and informative and did an excellent job. This includes the estimator, the owners, the installers, and everyone in the office. It is obvious to me that the people in this company really get along and they all try to do their best. They are perfectionists. In addition, they were able to get the Johns Manville insulation. I think everyone should try this company - I could not be more pleased! *Big Smile*
