ceramic tile, flooring contractor
 + 0 moreJoe's crew showed up on time and the tear out went quickly and was done in less than one day. Laying the backer board and tile took a full five days, two days longer than originally estimated. Joe had one or two employees that were there every day and did a fine job, as I think they had lots of experience. However, as it appeared it was taking longer than expected additional employees showed up. I was not pleased with the quality of their work, and in fact, asked Joe not bring one person back. I felt he was being trained on my floor. Joe was only present for most of the first day, after that he only stopped in once or twice a day and only for a minute or two. I would have liked to have him present more. The workers seemed to do better when he was present. All in all, I am pleased my floor but there are a few crooked tiles in obvious places that I felt could have been done better.
Description of Work: Joe's company removed my current kitchen, dining room, and entry flooring down to the sub floor. They installed ceramic tile which I purchased separately. The total was just under 500 sq ft. I chose Joe based on his price and that he was willing to install tile I purchased from another source. He was also willing to tear the old floor down to the sub floor. Of other estimates I got, some wanted to put the tile on top of the current vinyl floor, others insisted on going to the sub-floor because my underlay was particle board. Joe would do it either way as I wanted. Joe's estimate of square footage was high, but his price per sq. ft. was low enough so that in the end he was cheaper than most of the other estimates I received. I feel I got a good value.
