About us
Cooperating with Mother Nature… beautifully. • I specialize in sustainable landscape designs that require lower maintenance, attract birds, utilize native and edible plants, provide interest all year long, and employ the 'right plant / right place' principle. • In situations where full-scale design may not be warranted, my gardening coach service offers plant ID, troubleshooting, education, instruction, and other gardening advice. • I can bring harmony to your landscape using my background as a graphic artist blended with my passion for plants, inquisitive nature, and calling to teach. • Goodnight Design does the design phase of a landscaping project… not the installation. Most of my clients are do-it-yourselfers who want to be as hands-on as possible. Many of them hire a contractor to install only the hardscape… but doing the planting themselves. Many of my clients love that I am a teacher. I often get hired either before or after a design project to teach the client more about horticulture, pruning, plant selection, design, etc. • With each project my clients receive my list of my preferred service providers for help with installing my design. I also provide other educational information (when applicable) that might help the client better care for their own landscape in the future. • I do coaching/teaching at an hourly rate, and I make free written estimates for all design projects. • See my website for more about my services, fees and philosophy -- http://goodnightdesign.com

"Thanks so much. And I, too, wish more people would call me before they start a project. I love helping people identify the choices connected with the reality of each gardening situation."
While I love the plan she did for me (she does plans, not installation, but does have suggested contractors that she works with for install) what I found the most helpful was the Garden Coaching. What a revelation to have someone come over and walk around your property with you and identify what you have- and what should be done with it. That shrub that looks horrible? Because it's planted in shade and it needs sun. What the heck kind of tree is that? Does it need to be pruned? What kind of thing would work well in this odd spot and so on. And if that was not enough, Beth also sent a follow up email with a PDF of suggestions, AND she makes an MP3 recording while you do your coaching session that she sends you so you can refer to it after. This was great, so I could pay attention during the session and not have to worry about taking tons of notes while she was there. I was blown away by this service.
Beth is helpful, patient, and very knowledgeable, and her communication was VERY prompt - you will never wonder if she got your email or phone call, she was always right on top of getting back quickly.
I can't say enough great things about Beth and the services she provides.
(ps- for cost of service above, there are many options to choose from, and Beth did a few different things for me so it's hard to post ONE price, but $120 was for my coaching, which I felt to be the best part)
"Thanks for your kind words, [member name removed]. I'm so glad the coaching was helpful. And for others, you can see sample pricing for landscape design services here: http://goodnightdesign.com/services/pricing/"
