I used them one time. It's a very specific type of work. Not everybody does it, that's why I know to ask and Exceptional Cleaning said, “Yes, we do do that kind of work!” It was about two hours worth of work. There were two people. They charge $35 per hour, per person, and they charged me for two hours. The people that I normally use are private people, and that doesn't mean they're cheaper. They might have charged a bit less, so on price, they were okay. The reason I was looking to shift from my private cleaner, the cleaning lady to somebody more professional was, I wanted a better job. My apartments are older, they are not status apartments and sometimes people look at them and they go, “Oh, this isn't the high-end place, she's not looking to have a super-duper job, just an okay job!” That's not true of me, and I tell that to people. I tell them that when I'm talking to them initially and then when they show up. I would say she didn't do any better than the normal person that I work with, the private person. We had a snow storm, so the first time that we scheduled, she couldn't come, but she called. I was already down there waiting for her by the time she called because I got there early and I knew it was a snow storm. That was okay, so we rescheduled. She needed a lot of lead time, which the line of work that I'm in sometimes I can give that and sometimes I cannot. In this case, it was okay. It would be better to have somebody that could work on shorter notice. If she can, she can, if she can't, she can't. She didn't show up to check the work that her people did and they did not give me an opportunity to check it; I had to prepay and there was no offer to come back. When you call, somebody answers the phone, sometimes you get a machine, but mainly you get someone, but that someone can't tell you much. They can just take a message for the main person. The live person is definitely not there to assist you, she is just there, it might as well be a machine.

We've been using Exceptional Cleaning service on a bi-weekly basis for a little over a year. The owner, Michelle, has always been responsive and she's impressed me with her good business sense and customer-focused attitude. Her staff people are typically well trained and they've been careful, friendly workers. We especially appreciate the good work ethic and meticulous cleaning skills of the lead person who comes each visit. The only (minor) downside in our experience with EC has been having a new/different person (or someone "new to us", at least) sent with her most visits. I realize this is an industry with fairly high turnover, so I suppose this goes with the territory, but--once we get acquainted with our cleaners and develop a trust level with them-- we prefer to have the same pair of cleaners come each visit.

Every time they cleaned our house they did a good job on most of it although it seemed like there was always one thing that seemed very noticeable when we walked in that never got done. When we tried to resolve the issues, Michelle was never punctual with her responses and on the last attempt she never did responded.
