Would not recommend Jon or his company to anyone. I was initially referred to him by a mutual friend. I showed him my projects at my New home and told him I already had bids on three or four of the different projects. He agreed to take on the whole thing and bill me 10% of bills as they came in for overseeing the whole project. This was the beginning of the problems. The first thing he did was just call the people I had already received bids from and hired them to do the job which I could’ve done and simply cost me an extra 10% on top of that for him calling them. Not only did he simply call the people I had gotten bids from but then he was so unreachable that when they had questions they had to call me cutting him out of the loop . But wait it gets worse. He then without getting bids from any other companies hired his own company to do a concrete pad. So with no competing estimates he hired himself and then wanted me to pay him his 10% general contracting fee for hiring his own company. It gets worse. As bills came in they had sales tax on them. He then added 10% to the total bill and wanted to re ad sales tax so he wanted me to pay sales tax on the sales tax. When I challenged this he told me he checked and that’s how it should be done. I’ve done my own research and found he is likely in line for huge penalty’s for illegally charging this way. It gets worse. When his crew came to pour concrete they drove over a pipe in my yard and broke it. They then grabbed the plumbing contractor that was there working on my house and had them fix what they had broken. Jon then had the plumber send me the bill for the damage his crew had done. Henco plumbing says the work was done at my home and even though I didn’t hire them not authorize it that it’s my bill to pay. I am meeting with attorneys on Monday to file suit against Jon Christopher his company and Henco plumbing. I can’t warn enough to not use this person for anything.

hThis review is long overdue and mostly because I just finished the building.  John and I misscommunicated at first which caused a little bit of frustration.  I have to admit the half the problem was my fault by misreading the bid which was a little confusing.    Bottom line, John and I got thru that by talking  and after I looked at other bids, I realized he offered a fair price.  He really made an effort to make it right.
He communicated well and promptly.  Either John or his crew arrived when they said they would and stayed on schedule.  We had to work together as I was installing the sewer line while they were preparing the foundation for the slab..  They were very easy to work with and addressed any of my concerns or requests.
The real test came when it was time to pour the slab.  I'm a contractor of over 40 years of building experience and I wanted to observe the pour.  Unfortunately, the pour was delayed due to inspection backlogs of the county.  So, he did the pour while I was in Mexico on a planned vacation.  That was a leap of faith of my part because I'm very fussy about the quality of work.  John made a huge leap of faith on his part because the pour required significantly more concrete than he bid.  That was a risk for him as I could have made him stick to the bid price, but he took that risk because he wanted the job done right and I was difficult to contact out of country.
I paid the extra amount over the original bid price because as a contractor I recognized that it necessary to complete the slab properly.  There were some things changed along the way due to the grade that couldn't be helped.  I was very impressed that he took the risk and kept the job on my schedule.
The quality of the work was excellent.  All the foundation bolts were placed exactly as I requested and he even caught a couple I missed.
All in all, I enjoyed working with John and his crew.

I had a hard time finding a cement contractor who would bid on cementing-in a small area in the sidewalk that required a Camas City permit. Company owner Jonathan Christopher was the only bidder and he combined my job with another job in my neighborhood. He poured cement on the day and time promised. His surface finishing - leveling, smoothing, texturing for slip resistance, and perfect rounded border edges - is the best I've ever seen. A beautiful job. Jonathan was easy to talk to and always available by cell phone.
