Cascade Fence and Deck

Professional company ... Great communication (Carrie, Omar, Kory), great installation and communication (Tavis, Ian, Lukas). They built a wood/wire fence (Deschutes) and it turned out great. Not the cheapest place around but if you are looking for a high end, high quality product with people that meet their commitments, this is your place.

My wife and I waited years dealing with an absolute terror of a fence. Ultimately, after multiple fence toppling wind storms this year we decided we didn't have the patience to deal with it any longer and we called Cascade. Wow I was impressed, responsive, friendly, accommodating, and ultimately very well crafted, we are kicking ourselves for waiting. The day of our demolition and build Ian and Tavis gave us exceptional, kind, and communicative service. When inevitably we ran into a challenges they offered solutions and were flexible while still finishing on time and within spec. We could not be happier with our fence, with our service, and with our decision to go with Cascade Fence & Deck.

We chose Cascade Fence & Deck (CFD) to replace our existing deck and steps. The entire process from design through build was the best we’ve experienced with any similar construction project. CFD responded to our initial inquiry in less than a day with information on the company and their approach to deck design and construction. (Their extensive video library on these topics was very helpful.) After our consultation with Mike a week later, we received a complete proposed design package that included a video presentation and a detailed estimate that reflected all the components we discussed. The work was scheduled within a couple weeks and, despite some unusually challenging winter weather, our project was completed on time. The installers, Eion and Dylan, are very skilled and knowledgeable and they were totally focused on getting everything right. They answered all our questions and communicated with us frequently about progress and the next day’s schedule. In addition to cleaning up the project site daily as needed, they did an especially thorough cleanup on the last day. In summary, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend CFD and we would certainly consider them for a similar project in the future.

CF&D performed a deck railing replacement project for us at our coastal house. From our initial engagement with them to our final invoice for the work this week, CF&D handled everything well beyond our expectations. Scoping our work, bidding, contracting, scheduling, and delivering were all handled expeditiously and professionally. They came on-schedule to work during gale-force winds and rains to demo the old rails and then install new posts and cables for the new rails, with everything plumb and tensioned correctly. Despite an impending snow storm, they stayed at our site to ensure completion of all of our major segments (we had one that was completed later due to our error in materials delivery-- which they did not charge us for!). Having experienced a failed implementation for our rails previously, we were overjoyed at how ably CF&D performed and are glad to share our experience.

This is my second project with Cascade Fence and Deck. I reviewed the first project in 2017 as a five star rating. This fencing project gets the same five stars from me again. The company was quick to respond to my quote request and very reasonable on pricing. Scheduling was quick and convenient. The installers, Blake and Michael, texted the day before to confirm the schedule and go through the installation details. Blake and Michael also texted the morning of the install to confirm they were on their way. Portland had a big snow apocalypse on the day of the install, but Blake and Michael got all the posts set, even as the snow started to accumulate. I have to compliment them both on their tenacity. It was freezing cold and driving was going to get dangerous and I agreed they should head back to the shop and return another day to finish. Luckily, as Portland got 12” of snow that afternoon. They made sure to replace the temporary fence before they left. Blake touched base every day over next few days as all roads were still too dangerous to drive. When the roads cleared, Blake texted the day before to confirm they would finish the following day. The job turned out great. Great cleanup as well and they confirmed when they were leaving and sent me photos. I highly recommend Cascade Fence and Deck. Very professional all the way around.

Our deck was in need of replacing for both safety issues, as well as making it bigger and better. After getting a couple bids, we went with Cascade for many reasons, including their quick responsiveness, very thorough discussion about design and our overall wants, and professionalism shown throughout. We worked with Mike on the design, Jason for our project management, but were most blown away by Eion (the foreman), and his sidekick Dylan. From start to finish, they were very communicative and courteous. We knew what time they'd be starting every day, and what their plan was for the day. They were efficient, yet still gave us a quality product. They listened to our concerns about a few nuances of the design, and made sure they got it to our specifications. Each day they cleaned up after themselves. They even went as far as bringing up our trash cans. Above and beyond! We can't recommend them enough.

Cascade Fence was terrific and our new ornamental fence looks beautiful! Tyler and Lukas were very professional and didn't waste any time. I wouldn't hesitate to use Cascade again!

Blake and Michael built an Acrylite patio cover for me. They did an excellent job. They worked very efficiently, communicated with me throughout the process, and overall did a great job. They cleaned up thoroughly each day. They were here on time, and I was really impressed with their level of professionalism. The people at Cascade Fence and Deck are the best in the area. They absolutely do the job right down to the last detail. I had them rebuild my back porch and stairs with a custom railing. When I wasn't completely happy with the railing, they came back and now it's exactly what I wanted. They didn't make me feel bad about the rework either. Michael and Blake were all you could hope for in contractors. Courteous, friendly, quiet (except for their tools 😉), knowledgeable and experts at their job. Would only ever use Cascade for future projects!

You wrote a review for Cascade Fence & Deck One minute ago 5.0 star rating2/1/2023 We were looking to demolish 2 wrap around porches and rebuild them in Trex with new railings, privacy screens and a new stairwell. Cascade was recommended by a neighbor and the team immediately impressed us with their knowledge and problems solving. Our property isn't an easy one to work on (we're perched on a hillside) and the team at Cascade worked on the plans until we loved it *and* they city approved. When the actual work began, everyone was on-time, friendly and professional. We had a new deck with new railings and privacy screens within weeks. They were on schedule and even finished a day early allowing us to have our annual Halloween party on the new deck! More than once I thought something was going to be a problem, like coordinating window installation with another company, and Cory and the team said "no problem" and took care of it. Cascade was quick with replies, via email and text, which is so important on a big project like this. Cascade worked to make our dream deck happen and I have and will recommend them.

Long story - worth the read!! Cascade Fence & Deck constructed a gorgeous cedar fence for us in 2016 that didn’t hold up and they admit now, was an unfavorable and faulty design that they ceased selling shortly after ours was put up. They did come out to work on the fence (at no charge) in 2018 and shore it up but unfortunately that failed to produce lasting results. By 2022 we were tired of dealing with an unsteady fence and boards needing to be reattached all the time. After contacting the owner of Cascade Fence in early May, two managers, Leif and Louis came out to assess the problems. During their end-of-May visit, they explained how that fence design came to be. A contractor had approached Cascade, soliciting them to build fences of HIS design for a neighborhood development of his own. Once the fences had gone up there was immediate demand for that “look.” But it didn’t take long for Cascade to see that it wasn’t a viable fence and for them to discontinue selling that design. Unfortunately we were caught in that small window of time during which it was being sold. Leif and Louis listened to our concerns, were apologetic, and left with a promise to be in touch. They then reached out with a solution for us in less than two weeks from their initial visit. Cascade was going to stand behind their project and would build a new fence for us with all new wood, at no additional cost to us, with a lifetime workmanship warranty! We shook hands and arranged for the work to be done in January when our landscape would be mostly dormant. This was important to us due to our numerous prized plantings. On 1/16/23 Cody and Lukas came out to dismantle the old fence and construct the replacement. Two days later we had a new beautifully built cedar fence. It is clear by watching this construction process that this is a very solidly built fence that is here to stay. We have no doubts. Cody and Lukas also took great care with our landscape. Great care. Over the years we have experienced both ends of the “taking care of the landscape” spectrum. At the one end, we’ve hired contractors who’ve stomped on plants and ripped branches off precious shrubs and trees they deemed were unimportant and in their way. Cody and Lukas are nearly at the opposite end of that spectrum. They dismantled the fence without causing undue harm to our plants and Cody built the fence with such skill and attention to detail that no plants were harmed in the process. We cannot say enough about Cascade Fence & Deck and all the employees there that we have come into contact with. This is a superb firm that is ethical, honest, and hires staff with high standards of integrity. HIRE THEM ! ! !

We had a big project with installation of both front and back yard decks and fences. Everyone that worked with us was professional, easy to talk to, knew what they were doing--yet often double-checked with me or my wife just to make sure each detail was what we wanted. They've also made a lot of suggestions, some of which we loved and ended up being part of the end product. We couldn't be happier with our new decks and fences! This review is long overdue and I have to say both of my experiences with Cascade Fence and Deck have been incredible. This summer I needed to close a gap in my deck railing after removing an exterior fireplace. I called around to a few places and the estimates were significantly more than I wanted to pay. When I contacted Cascade, I spoke with Carrie who was so friendly, understanding, and said thought she could help with my budget. She put me in touch with Sven who sold me all of the parts and walked me through doing it myself. I couldn’t believe the excellent customer service. When it was time to have a hand rail installed on an exterior staircase, I knew I was going to call Cascade first. The whole team who worked on our project was great. Trevor did the estimate and was friendly, prompt, and easy to communicate with. The same goes for Jason, our Project Manager. He was easy to contact and always picked up the phone when I called. The team asked if I was open to a sub-contractor doing the job to get it done as soon as possible. They said many of the sub-contractors were prior employees of Cascade Fence and Deck. I agreed and Ilia and Paul were great! They showed up on time and finished by the early afternoon and cleaned up after themselves. I would have never known they were subcontractors. Our next project will likely be a fence and gate and I will definitely be calling Cascade first.

Cascade Fence & Deck removed our old deck and replaced it with a beautiful new deck. The whole process was super smooth from the design to construction, and the deck amazing. We went back and forth during the design process, as we changed our minds, and landed on a Deckorators deck with cable railing, cocktail rail, and posts to hang string lights. When it came time for construction, the whole team did an amazing job. Dwayne and Elon had the old deck demoed in about a day. Ian and Lukas kept building even when the weather got cold and rainy. AJ made sure the site stayed clean- I saw him a couple times walking the yard with a magnet on a string picking up stray screws. And Kyle made sure we knew everything that was happening every step of the way, and the why behind the processes. I am looking forward to spending time on the deck for years to come.

We had a wonderful experience working with Cascade Fence and Decking. Omar was our original contact providing us with excellent recommendations on design and details about the build out. Our construction crew included Levi, Tavis and Avin. Polite, accommodating, hard working and always willing to go a step beyond in making sure we got the deck that we wanted. We could not be happier. The entire team had stellar communication skills and follow through. We chose the Deckorators composite decking as it is supposedly less slippery than Trex. To no surprise however, it did ice up immediately after installation following a rain and freezing night time temps. I guess that is to be expected with any product and I am really glad we decided to add a handrail to our stairs! Highly recommend this crew.

We knew from our first appointment to get a quote that this was the company for us. Our representative was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and had the latest technology to show us all our options on the spot. And it was the same when the crew showed up to install the fence. The end result was exactly what we wanted, and we are still very happy with our decision six years later. We even told them about our desire to replace the front porch metal railing, and they made that happen too! The two times we reached out to them over the years regarding the fence and gate lock, they treated us as VIP's. I wish I had another yard for them to fence, but since we don't, I am leaving this review so someone else can benefit from this excellent company.

Trevor was our initial contact and was very friendly and had outstanding customer service from the initial visit to the plans for our project and the estimate. Kyle and AJ completed the install and not only completed the job as expected, but also went above and beyond in the little details including clean up after the project. Cascade built us a beautiful deck to our specifications in 3 1/2 days. They were easy to work with and addressed every one of our concerns throughout the process of estimate, timeline, and construction. We wanted some details that they hadn't done previously, and they thought outside of the box to make everything perfect.
