The floor looked good to start but after not even a year they started lifting due to poor installation. The new owner Pam Valentine was the sales person at the time and used questionable installers that didn't seem to know what they were doing. They didn't leave room for contraction and expansion. Needless to say my floors look terrible. The installers bond is worthless because of so many claims against it. If it wasn't for the previous owner Dave at the time of my purchase I would basically be left with floors that are completely worthless. Please do your research before using this company. I basically wasted thousands of dollars that would have been better spent doing the floor myself.

Very well. Floor people very professional. One of the office personnel could use some training on customer courtesy.

The owner, Shawn, promptly came out to measure our space and help me figure out which flooring would meet all of our needs. We had some very specific concerns related to making our house safe and accommodating for our daughter who has special needs, and Shawn was extremely helpful. For example, we wanted the same flooring in the bathroom and have it flow throughout the rest of the house without any tripping hazards due to uneven transitions in any of the doorways. The flooring we chose had to be suitable for a bathroom (waterproof) and also had to be easy to install over a very badly damaged and uneven subfloor in our 1920's home, so our choices were more limited. Shawn went the extra mile, personally calling the manufacturer of one product we were considering when I wasn't able to find the answer to my questions from their website. I had looked at this same flooring in other stores, but Affordable's price was much better and I simply got more information about the product than I could anywhere else because he works more closely with that company (Shaw) than others in our area do. The installation was scheduled within just a few weeks of the measure date. The installers were very pleasant and professional, and handled the quirks of our old home with ease. We had some very minor issues with some finish details of the installation, but they were either quickly resolved by Affordable, or were easy to deal with ourselves (which we did not mind doing, however that's the reason I gave a "B" on the quality of the installation). Overall, we are completely satisfied with the end result. In all honesty, when I first went to their store/showroom in Vancouver, I was a little nervous because the place looks a bit shabby on the outside-- is not super tidy and fancy on the inside. But, I forced myself to look beyond that and go by the reviews I had read here on Angie's List, which were generally quite good. If I owned the place, I would definitely hire someone to spruce up the showroom a little better, but that's just me.:) By contrast, I have been to some other VERY slick flooring showrooms that had very high prices, and employees that seemed like they couldn't be bothered to help me. I'd also had other contractors come out to measure and try to sell me flooring that didn't seem to be listening to my needs. One other company didn't even bother to show up when I made a measure appointment. But, everyone I interacted with at Affordable Floors was friendly, knowledgeable and genuine. They happily put up with me borrowing stacks of samples, bringing them back for more and changing my mind at least a dozen times. All aspects of the job were managed very promptly and professionally. We'd recommend them to anyone.

The original project schedule did not go as planned, but Shawn (the owner) made arrangements to accommodate my schedule.   The technician, Tom, did an excellent job.   He has many years of experience and his workmanship shows it.  Pam also did her part in coordinating the work.

Great staff, professional, and punctual. This is the second project they have worked on for me. The first (Nov 2009) was vinyl flooring and kitchen countertop replacement. I am very happy with the results and highly recommend their work.

I enjoyed working with their representative but couldn't get them to complete the tile project. Everything else they did was great! They probably would've scored an A had they completed the work.

Excellent. Theres nothing more important than being able to communicate with your vendor and the owner was open to feedback and input, changes and questions throughout the whole process. He explained exactly what would happen at each step and checked in personally on his team.
Our only knock was his workers were late one day but after we mentioned this to the owner they were on time. Otherwise these guys were pro's!

I have used them before as well. They did a great job just like they did about a year ago. They are prompt. Their prices are good. They are nice people to interface with. There is no pressure. I will use them again when I get ready to do some more flooring.

The overall experience was great. Sean measured for carpet, answered all our questions including where the seams would be. He ordered large carpet samples, to assist us in selecting the appropriate color. He followed up with the manufacturer to ensure our carpet would be installed on the scheduled dates, as we had a dedicated timeline, that couldn't be changed. Sean has professional installers that are employees of Affordable Floors, not subcontractors. They were neat, on time, and did a fantastic job. Very courteous and conscientious. They also moved some furniture for the project. They were just very respectful of our home and furnishings, and made a big project a lot easier to deal with. Highly recommended.

After getting a bid from another area contractor I decided to contact "Affordable Floors" and am glad we did so. The sales lady was punctual and consummately professional. She suggested we do the hardwood project prior to the new carpeting so the carpet installer could do professional closeups of bedroom carpets and the living room area to the newly refinished and added floor. It turned out to be the best decision. The company uses subcontractors to perform both hardwood flooring and the carpeting, but have had a long term association with evidently some of the best installers in the business. Both installations went extremely well. We are quite happy with the quality of the workmanship. We'll definitely use this company again in the future for our flooring needs. We joined Angie's List after securing them which was a mistake, but luckily Affordable floors had an A rating whereas the other company we didn't utilize had a D and C rating. My recommendation is to join Angie's List prior to engaging in a search for services.

Everything went well. We were well advised by them. They showed us a carpet that wasn't being marketed just yet and we chose that carpet.

They were excellent. It was a very good experience. We shopped carefully and found they had a very good product and the best price. They did everything they said they were going to do. The installers were very courteous and punctual, and went out of their way to do a good job. We were very happy with them in all ways.
